It's a shame it never happened as it could have worked out. Paul seems the most apt of the Beatles to compare Christine to. Same goes for Stevie and George. Not so sure and Lindsey and Lennon. Poor old Mick and Ringo always seem to get paired together as the butt of drummer jokes, rather unfairly in my admittedly unprofessional view.

The marketing around it is "Coming Soon" with a picture of Stevie and her interviewer. I think it's the same interviewer from when she did a sit-down with them during Covid. Again, I don't want to feed into the frenzy, but why not just announce the Sunday morning it's airing.

Makes you ponder if they are waiting to air it closer to an announcement of something?
If Stevie's doing a CBS News interview, to me, she'd be speaking about her new song, solo concerts next year, and maybe an upcoming album. If there was a FM interview, my belief is Mick would be doing it with Stevie.

For what it’s worth, the rumor has made it to Crazy Days and Nights, a celebrity blind item site. Sometimes they’re right, and sometimes they’re just regurgitating rumors that are already making the rounds online.

Posted on October 14 (ie right after Stevie’s SNL appearance)

Blind Item #8
Apparently, in the world of musical healing, this recent late night singer said over the weekend she can work once again with her former band partner. Looks like the band is getting back together.

I like a Christine better than John Lennon. She had more talent in her pinky than his whole body.
She really did have a lot of talent. And it comes out even more now that she's gone.

So, Howard Stern, then?

It’s sad how many people seem to buy the rumor of a reunion, but even sadder than they don’t seem to care whether or not John’s part of it. If Fleetwood Mac can exist without John McVie, what’s stopping Stevie from getting Waddy, Tom, and Gary back together and going out as Buckingham Nicks with Neil Finn?

It may be sad and wrong, but it's also sort of the bassist's lot isn't it.

LOL...really now? you're that sad and surprised? They had no issue with going out as Heartbreaker-Crowded House-Mac (which you spoke many praises of) and now you've got crocodile tears because people don't care about John McVie. Mick and Stevie were ready to replace him in 2013.

The sad reality is - of all the members of Fleetwood Mac, the general public could care less who is playing that bass line in The Chain. As long as the Bud Lite is flowing and Stevie Nicks is there to do her schtick, Irving has his cashflow lined up.

Welcome to the club. You told all the Lindsey fans here to suck it up not that long ago. As you would say - John McVie isn't putting butts in seats!

Now, please excuse me while I laugh myself right out of this thread.

Her ego of having to share a name with someone.

Certainly though BigAl, to be fair. You even see the difference of having the McVie's absent vs. Buckingham (who actually quit once).

When we just talk about the core of having both McVie's gone, can you really call it FM? I mean, it was starting to deteriorate in 2014, let alone 2025 without two McVie's.

Buckingham/Nicks are not FMac. FMac saved both of them and gave them careers, and they in turn saved Fmac. But they still aren't FMAC.

From the last posts I would say you guys are talking about a supergroup, like Asia or Traveling Wilburys. Depending on the members, it could be interesting.

But it would have nothing to do with a Fleetwood Mac reunion, which I hope never happens, IMHO.

As a Fleetwood Mac fan...yes, of course if both McVie's are absent I wouldn't consider it Fleetwood Mac.

My real point was - nobody should be surprised if John's absence isn't noted/weighted in the same regard as the folks around here would. John doesn't sing, didn't write the hits, and stayed in the background most of the time. Of all the members of the band, he is the easiest to replace with minimal impact to the general public, or the casual fans buying tickets. By far, less noticeable than Neil Finn singing Go Your Own Way and Mike Campbell limping through the guitar parts.

Stevie has said it herself - she won't do Fleetwood Mac without Christine now, but she was ok with replacing John back in 2013.

Hardcore fans have more respect for the "core" members of the band than the actual band itself does! They've all agreed to do tours with various lineups for their own gains.

Also for the record - Lindsey has quit, Stevie has quit, Christine has quit. Lindsey is not the only member of the Rumours 5 to have quit the band.

Agree with most of this. I'm guessing Stevie has no interest in working with any of them, so it may all be moot.

I'd be interested in a MickBuck show.

I'd go to that.

What a sad ending of our band.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. It’s the perfect time for Clifford Davis to grab any remaining members of the band Stretch to rejoin as Fleetwood Mac and go on the road.
