People are just ridiculous over the issue of choice. Melania Trump has come out in favor and there was a comment on ultra-maga sites about how "if Trump can't control his own wife (on this issue) he can't control the country"..

Does anyone know how the song did commercially? It's been almost two weeks. The song was all over the press. RollingStone, Billboard, People, CNN.

Spotify shows 384,237 plays. But I have no idea whether that’s good, bad, or middling.

Also, I doubt they are unique plays…meaning one person playing multiple times.

It didn’t chart on the major chart in the US, Canada, or UK. I guess Saturday night live will get it on the charts.

Oh, I hate this talk of abortion here. I don’t know why, I mean, I’m not a woman, I’ve never been in a relationship where someone had an abortion, and I’m pro-choice. Maybe it’s the judgement of people who’ve had abortions? I don’t know why that bothers me., it just does.
But regardless of my views, here I am commenting on it. Maybe everything said here would have been true- Stevie is definitely self-absorbed, and her drug use and rock and roll lifestyle and constant touring would very likely have negatively impacted how good of a mother she would have been. Or maybe it would have been the opposite- maybe if she had had a baby, her maternal instincts would have kicked into overdrive and she would have shaped up and met the challenge. Who knows? And then we likely wouldn’t have had many FM releases after Rumours, let alone many solo releases. I’m not saying it was a complete case of careerbs motherhood, but who knows? For all we know, Christine could have had an abortion or two, as well. I mean, she was so private, and much much less forthcoming than Stevie was. And Christine never had children, but maybe if she had, everything said about Stevie could apply to her- Christine drank, did drugs, smoked, etc. Would she have been able to successfully raise a child? With Dennis Wilson as the father? It’s easy to be judgemental in that way, so I prefer not to think about it. Neither one of them had children for whatever reason. I think it’s very telling that Lindsey was older and probably much more mature as a person when he had children… at least that we know of. He had the luxury of having sex with women and not getting pregnant himself. Here’s that slippery slope again, but for all we know, he could have paid for girlfriends to have abortions. Would he have been a good father in 1978-1987? I’m not saying this subject shouldn’t be discussed here, I’m just suggesting we continue to be respectful of everyone, from members of the band to the folks who come here to the Ledge. I have to think this subject could be triggering for some folks, who may unknowingly click on this subject not expecting the subject of people being horrible mothers or how it was wrong of someone to have an abortion, or how it was better for the child that it was aborted. At that point the discussion just seems… uhh. Only my opinion, and I hope I don’t get flamed for expressing it, because I’m honestly not trying to say people shouldn’t be discussing it, if that’s what they want to talk about. Anyone who even remotely suggests that a verse be moved, cut, or re-written would get the same lecture that Lindsey was given in 2002. Dave Stewart may perhaps be the only person in the past 15 years that was able to get her rambling poems down to some resemblance of a melody/chorus/verse. Her newer material isn't great because she's out of practice. She openly admitted she didn't write anything until the tail end of the pandemic. That's a year right there. She probably didn't write much of anything the year leading up to the pandemic either. Long gone are the days where she had a habit of working on demos and folks like David Ortiz were helping her at home to craft demos. She's largely isolated and no longer surrounded by creative folks or even other musicians/writers.

Can we move the misogynistic, right-wing circle jerk somewhere else? Accusing her of killing children? This is getting ridiculous.

I am not a fan of a lot of her behaviors ( firing Lindsey etc.) but I am with you on this. It seemed like JD Vance had invaded the Ledge...gag

To others: As for Stevie's personal life, YOU don't get to decide if she's an unhappy old hag who would have been happier with kids or not. Only SHE does. If she's good with it, then everyone else can f*** off.

I don't think that money and fame automatically bring happiness, but the suggestion that a rich, successful, touring musician must be miserable simply because she's unmarried and doesn't have kids is very silly.

There are people on this planet who have actually killed actual children. Stevie Nicks did not kill children. Stevie Nicks had abortions.
