Has there actually been any press about this being a harbinger of a forthcoming album, or is this just hopeful conjecture by some?
I think that SHE thinks political songs will somehow get her more attention than her tired old dirges would garner.

I have listened to The Lighthouse a few times and it has grown on me, (a bit)
I quite like the rousing feel it gives.
The song has a definite message and in that instance gives an anthem feel.
(Bit of overkill really..)

I do not pretend to understand US law, regarding Abortion.
But the message about a woman’s rights is Universal.

Stevie DID NOT play her new song in Philly tonight(yesterday?). Confirmed by someone who was there.

Wouldn't she want the practice, if she were doing it soon?

Here is what she told Mojo magazine a few months back:

“At the end of pandemic, I finally started to write again,” Nicks tells MOJO’s Bob Mehr. “I’ve got this song about women’s rights that I think is really strong. And I wrote a song called The Vampire’s Wife, which is one of the best things I’ve ever written. It’s a story song, like Gypsy’s a story song, and Rhiannon’s a story song. So maybe that’s the beginning of an album.”

Nicks plans to go into the studio to record her new material later this summer, following her forthcoming run of European dates, including her headlining show at Hyde Park in July.

I think it is getting quite attention. A song with a woman's name would get less views and likes, I think. We got enough Saras, Janes, Gretas, etc.

But I don't think it will last long either.

She was in Hershey last night, but she referred to last night's show as the end of two years of touring, so in hindsight, I'm not really surprised that she didn't add something completely new to the set on the final night of the tour. I'm also thinking that the band that performs the song on SNL might include Sheryl Crow and might not be the same exact line-up as her touring band.

If this song signals what her next album will be like then it’s definitely going to be rock and produced very well.

Even though the new song just came out the day before?! I think you’re right that Sheryl will be at SNL but her band was in rehearsals in a space mid-September according to photos from her drummer and organist’s social media so I think it’ll be her touring band with Sheryl.

Well, well. It looks like this song may have backfired. She is getting a ton of hate on Twitter and Instagram and YouTube. She has lost a ton of fans.

I've seen lots of positive feedback, but the folks who want to live in The Handmaid's Tale are usually the louder ones.

ah yes the hive mentality of the MAGA cult. Like you said yourself she is 76 and does not care anymore. She never would have done it back when she was still selling millions of albums

I agree with this comment! This is the downside of fame, when you're a public figure, you're judged for everything you do and say, unfortunately!

Even Katy Perry, who just performed at the Australian AFL Grand Final on Saturday, is getting negative reviews by some people in the audience.

They felt that they couldn't connect with her because she was wearing sunglasses, to avoid the glare from the bright lights etc! .

Well the hive mentality doesn’t really exist on MAGA side. It’s really a religious and woke thing.

P.S. Her career is basically over so it can’t really hurt her. I think she thinks it is helping her.

Well I'm not surprised. Nowadays whatever a public figure says generates anger (to say the least) from trolls and haters, doesn't matter the message point.
