I think Stevie said in a '98 interview that Lindsey can really mess up your songs if he wants too. The only ones I can think she might be referring to are Twisted and Crystal because she did her own versions solo, and Sweet Girl because she released the demo for it after The Dance. Maybe also When I See You Again and Welcome To The Room Sara (even though those are my favorites on Tango) because they seem to be thought of as garbage here
She did a fine job instructing Mike Campbell to butcher Twisted and My Heart...wowzers.

Push all vocal squabbles aside, her entire band right now is beyond boring. They're all incredibly talented musicians playing the most vanilla arrangements humanly possible. There's so much auto-pilot going on that a slight change up on the intro to Stand Back feels like an effing revelation. Yeah, it's all live but she might as well use a recording. That arrangement of Gypsy reminds me of those cringe worthy arrangements you hear recorded for Karaoke machines.

yeah she's played that line many times... he'll make your songs good IF he's happy with you etc etc. (And I'm sure he's capable of being petty)

She however has also taken a liiiitttle bit of rare, actual ownership for her own laziness/preference to party over work by saying that when one of your songs doesn't come out how you wanted "you wish you'd been there (in the studio) more" or "you wish you'd tried harder" etc...sooo..... if you think every random thought that you scribble down is genius, and you plonk it out with two fingers and then disappear for months to party / do drugs/ go on tour with another band or whatever it is, and leave it to other people to slave over it and make you look brilliant when you come back for an hour to sing your vocals...well.... Actions, meet consequences. If you don't take your songs serious enough to actually work on them, why should anyone else....

Yet I still can't figure out what songs she's unhappy with. HER songs performed on the 2018 Tour did not have significant changes from the album versions. All I can think of is that Storms had more keyboard audible in it.
What bands have done with new lineups is rerecord old songs with the new lineup: Blondie, Foreigner, Journey, Kiss

That makes a lot of sense. I think that happened specially with Tango, and with Street Angel, or so I read.

I almost wonder if she just recorded vocals for Show Them The Way and sent it to the producers and that was the end of it. Stevie just watched Netflix after doing her vocals and let Greg Kurstin, Dave Grohl and Dave Stewart work on it. She's never performed the song live and BLY pointed out, the song is not on her Career Box Set but her Buffalo Springfield cover is.

I still think she'll get an album out before Lindsey. Coming up on a year since Lindsey's self titled album tour started!
