Were came prepared with our rain ponchos and took our place in our awesome seats, 8th row center, directly in front of Stevie. It rained on us the entire evening but we were told that would probably happen. I have seen Stevie so many times in my life that I simply lost count. Even in the last 20 years I have seen her a gazillion times. But this show was the best performance I have seen from her this entire 21st century. The rain only seemed to enhance her determination to impress her audience. Even though the stage was covered it did not spare any of the stage musicians from the rain. It rains sideways around here and we could see on the multi camera videos the instruments were wet all evening. Stevie literally gave 100% of herself. She sang loudly and clearly. She held her notes longer than she normally does. She moved around a lot. She literally sang the sheet out of every song. None of the songs sounded boring. It was as if she were singing them for the first time. They were filled with so much life. Fall from Grace was a special delight for me because the sound was turned up louder and Waddy blasted that guitar. The looks she gave her bandmates and the looks they gave her all night were very telling of how obnoxious it is to have to play in the rain. You could tell they all felt so bad for us audience members and collectively the band played their ultimate best, the best they had to offer. It was such a great show!! I also noticed the crowd had a lot of college age people mixed right into the baby boomers. It's nice to see the music of my generation lives on.
That is awesome! Did she do any spins? Did you like Free Fallin?
