He is not a world class singer, but is certainly serviceable to his own material; and knows exactly what touches to add to the material of others (his backing vocal on "Gypsy": "lightning strikes, maybe once maybe twice"; "she was just a wish, she was just a wish').

Christine has always been my favorite, but I totally agree with you on these points. When Lindsey played onstage with The Killers, it made me want to see what he could do as a producer with bands like them.

I also think his singing is underrated. There’s so much to praise about his guitar virtuosity that people don’t often mention that he actually has a lovely voice and it’s stayed very consistent over the decades.
