Unhappy No Christine at Earls Court

She was in the audience but didn't play unfortunately.
Stevie dedicated Landslide to her and Mick introduced her as part of the band at the end of the show, even though she was sitting "way out there" in the arena. Everyone gave her a huge round of applause though...

A great show but slightly disappointing that Chris didn't play.

Wow! I suppose Christine IS really through with performing if she didnt even join them onstage! But I am glad that Stevie dedicated "Landslide" to her. I wonder if she went backstage after the show.
Last night I was listening to the Mac's box set and played "love shines" by Christine. The opening line always makes me smile. That's how I imagine Chris I guess.
Anyhow, thanks for the info!

Joseph

I find that kinda weird...I mean how hard would it have been for her to just get up there and sing "Songbird" or something?

Christine (at least I think) probably felt that, well, it's not her band anymore. It's a thing of her past and she's going to leave it there. She'll support them but she's cut the apron strings and has moved on. As much as I would've *LOVED* it, I just get this feeling that it would've been bittersweet for all parties involved.

~~~Sharon, did Stevie say anything different or special in dedicating Landslide to Christine? I love Stevie's way with words and I was just wondering exactly what she said.~~~
While I wish she would have played, I think she is just done with it. I love her.
Thanks Pip! What a bummer she didn't play. I can understand it though if she hasn't played in so many years.
Gee, I thought she would get up and play Don't Stop with them. Nothing more. But not even that?
Even if she didn't want to play a note, she could have at least sung on Don't Stop and/or World Turning! What, are her vocal chords all shriveled up or something?!
I for one am relieved that Christine didn't embarrass herself or the band with a half-assed appearance onstage. If I had been in the audience and stage time had been allocated to her, I would have been mightily pissed off.
Christine is long gone and the majority of fans, not to mention Stevie & Lindsey, are grateful for this.
I bought a ticket on the strength of the rumour that she would play but hell that was my choice.
I was disappointed she didn't play but I agree that after five years that was probably a step too far.
Still Stevie dedicated Landslide to her and also Mick gave a her nice mention (I bet it's been a while since anyone called her young lady!)
Did anyone actually see her at Earls Court? Was she sitting with all the family and friends just in from of the cameras?
Gail
I think she was sitting in the sound box about half way back on the floor. I saw Mick's family in there after the show but CHristine was gone already
Don't assume most of the fans or band feel this way Phill.She was a major force in Fleetwood Mac for years. I don't understand why you sound so bitter towards her.
I for one miss Chris and have tons of respect for her.
Alison, just take a look at Phil's posting history here on the Ledge. Virtually all of the posts are hateful towards Christine McVie, at least the ones that weren't deleted by the moderators. Just ignore this troll.
I'm sure that Christine just doesn't want to play live anymore. I was very surprised that she was even apparently thinking about it. She doesn't owe anybody anything. And, I hope she appreciated the standing ovation that she received. It's certainly more than well deserved, in my opinion.
