I don't get the slippers reference. Explain yourself, young man!

Yes, it was nice and sweet and well performed. But I mean it wasnÂ’t the be-all and end-all of Fleetwood Mac Live. The highlight of the Dance was You Make Loving Fun, for my money. Maybe Everywhere and Temporary One, too. Christine is the vocalist prize at the Dance, even though her keyboard playing is pretty dull.

I can’t speak much to her organ and keyboard work on the album since she’s muted or mixed down much of the time. But her piano playing on SS, Rhiannon (intro) and Songbird is very assured, even crisp. |

Why not? I mean, apples and oranges. Both songs work really well there.

Brett Tuggle didn't play lead on SS for The Dance?

No. In fact, they borrowed the intro to “Wish You Were Here.” It threw a bunch of us off at the time.

Also, the only acoustic piano that Brett played on the 1997 tour was OH DADDY. He played the piano and Christine played the B3. It was nice because we had never heard DADDY in concert with more than a B3.

In fairness, Christine is playing the exact opening chords to the original tune. That they sound like WYWH is probably because WYWH quotes SS.

The official video of this tune for The Dance clearly shows Christine playing the acoustic piano.

No, not exactly the same. I can play you both and point out the little differences in person. The WISH piano is all tonic. The other is tonic and subdominant in alternation, with a descending arpeggio figure (which is even noted in the official sheet music for the DANCE). I would never argue that these intros aren't similar, only that they aren't identical, and Christine plays lots of different songs with similar parts she devises so it isn't anything weird.

The "unplugged" grand piano intros to Rhiannon and Silver Springs are wonderful.
Does anyone know how the grand came to be used on these songs for the Dance? One potential theory could be that because Chris didn't like the spotlight pressure of performing Songbird, these songs gave her a chance to warm up.
