btw i'm finally listening to that interview and finding a few things interesting that i did not see mentioned yet in this thread -

Mick talks about FM as the 5. there's no more talk anymore about the new band.

to go back to the Lindsey and Stevie first joining, he mentions something that i haven't heard before from him (maybe others have and i just missed it?) - that Buckingham Nicks songs they were coming in the band with were mostly all co-written. we all get it, but they are credited as such on only one song.

Ah, Mick's revisionist history. This scares me that something IS in the works for Lindsey to come back. Ya know, the Bob Welch years never happened, and neither did the Bekka/Billy Time years. Mick is scum.

It’s true. Christine doesn’t mention their voices or getting gooseflesh until they are working on the white album and they spontaneously began singing on her song.

Again, I was saying that if Lindsey hypothetically joined the band without Stevie, what would Christine’s reaction have been upon hearing the album Lindsey made with his girlfriend who would have been hanging around them all the time in the studio?

In "Play On" of 2014, Mick speaks about the credit Lindsey deserves for bringing Stevie's writings to life.

Christine and John too in some ways helped those boring demos come to life.

John's contributions to Stevie's songs cannot be underestimated (though sadly frequently are). Rhiannon, Dreams (you know it's Dreams just from that opening bass line before the song fully starts). His playing on Angel ..... it is why no other versions sound as good. I could go on.

The Brits gave her as much as Lindsey in my opinion. She needed all the help she could get with writing and arranging.

Agree. My favorite John contributions are to Sara.

Didn't Christine mainly take what Stevie recorded on demos and replicate that? Like Sara... didn't Stevie create the piano parts for that whole song?

completely agree with everyone saying that BN versions of the same songs were much more raw (and now in a good way!) and unfinished. that includes not just instrumentation and arrangements but also harmonies. Crystal and Rhiannon are clear examples, while the song that stayed unchanged was Landslide.

i know most people here hold BN album in high regard, as do both Lindsey and Stevie, but for me a lot of their songs and harmonies contained unlistenable screeching and holes in instrumentation before their joining to FM.

So, yeah, Alec Baldwin LOVES Christine’s voice and speaks of her the way he speaks of no other FM member during the interview.

And I totally dug Mick’s dyslexia story and his memory of playing leather footstools in Norway.
