I'm not into Stevie's slow stuff at all. I like her more energettic's like, No Spoken Word, Imperial Hotel, Standback, Rhiannon.... Why am I listing them, you all know what I meanPS I alsways skip "Has Ayone Ever...", Beauty And The Beast, all those ones are too slow for me |

I disagree about Beautiful Child; I find BATB far more meandering in the music and the lyrics. Still I like some of her other meandering stuff like Forest of the Black Roses. You're right, some of my favorite Stevie songs are slow ones, including Garbo, The Highwayman, She Still Loves Him, etc. If it makes you feel any better (or respect me any less), HAEWAFY is not a favorite of mine either. - Jake

i never thought of it that way before but now that you mention it, it does seem a little forced...
whereas garbo, she just lets go~and it ends up perfect... |

Aaaaahhhhhh!
I have said before and I will say it again! "Beauty And The Beast" is and always will be a complete masterpiece from beginning to end from its conception to its inspiration it is a masterpiece. There has never been a song like it ever! I'm also sad to speculate that Stevie will probably never record another song like it...ever! Trust me kids when we are very old and still listening to our golden oldies, our treasures, we will be very thankful for Stevie's ballads... ...oh God...how sad did that sound? You cannot be a true Stevie fan without:
- burning Nag Champa - Lighting candles - Bidding on cigarette lighters with Stevie's pic on them while you just quit smoking - the "old" songs still sound new to you - being proud of being a fan - having dreams about her - Stevie's love for her fans Debbie

Just some things off the top of my head...
You can't be a true Stevie fan without: -Stevie/Mac screensavers for your computer -Having "Say You Will" appear as your cell phone greeting -99% of the items you buy on eBay being Stevie/Mac related -Going into a music store and organizing/straightening Stevie/Mac albums, while intentionally messing up bands you don't like...like Creed -Referring to all of your cool, black-heel boots as "Stevie Boots" -Smiling when your mom refers to your black-heeled boots as "Stevie Boots" as well ("Why don't you wear the big Stevie Boots, dear?") -Owning all Stevie/Mac albums on LP, cassette, cd and MP3 -Wanting to disown your friends who thought they were funny one night by singing "just like the ONE winged-dove..." for three hours -Laughing at Stevie's ramblings before songs because she's just so darn cute! -Spending hours and hours watching Stevie performances and interviews only to laugh at the thought of how long it took her to coordinate the head thrusts (with the male dancer from the Stand Back video) on her SNL performance in 1983 -Having your friends laugh at you for singing along (loudly) to Edge of Seventeen during School of Rock -Wondering what the hell IS nag champra, only to discover at the Milwaukee show (6/30/03) while checking out the local craft sale that it's incense! -Without being known in high school as the "Fleetwood Mac girl" -Being introduced to people as, "my artsy-fartsy friend who is obsessed with Fleetwood Mac!" (I prefer to call it passionate )-Creating a "dress as your favorite rock star day" during high school homecoming just so you can dress up as Stevie (which I won, by they way...) -Planning to name your future children after Stevie/Mac songs -The majoritiy of your t-shirts being Stevie/Mac related -Having your friends and family call anytime they hear a Stevie/Mac song because it made them think of you (my favorite!) |

You cannot be a true Stevie fan without:
Going through an extended period of time just hating everything about her, her songs, her look, her speech pattern, what she says in interviews...because, remember... ...it's a thin line, between love & hate...

BWAHHH HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! This totally reminded me of a conversation me and my "moonsisters" (my friends from here used to call ourselves that back when there was a Talk to Me chat on this web site). We were discussing the logistics of how that even worked physically! (OK WE WERE BORED!) OK...so here are my additions.... You are a true fan when... -You are listening to a classic rock station and point out to people that stevie slept with that guy when ever one of her exs' songs come on! -you purchased the "best & worst dressed" issue People mag just so you could have a picture of stevie wearing pants! -have a FM or Stevie tattoo that you swear you will never regret having even when you are 90. -you have usernames and email addys that are stevie related (mine being bladna81=belladonna 1981) and having to explain the meaning to non stevie-freaks who just look at you wierd. -you put great effort into deciding or actually getting a stevie inspired license plate and a matching frame. (don't have a car yet but i already know what i want to put on it) -when you hear people talking about medication you feel the need to put in your two cents and warn them about klonopin even though they have never even heard of it. - you name your pets after stevie songs (actually mine are named after lilo and stitch characters but I used to have fish named after FM members) -you swear you will know your true love because he will be able to sing you a stevie song that is not a released single or well known to most people and he can hold a conversation about it's meaning.

You can't be a true Stevie fan without being a Lindsey fan, because Lindsey said that he wouldn't join FM if Stevie couldn't join. If he hadn't said that, Stevie wouldn't have gotten anywhere and no one would know who she is.

You can't be a true Stevie fan without___
- Wearing multiple rings on both hands. - Having paper flowers and lace in your room or house. - Secretly wanting to go to Phoenix, just to catch a glimpse. - LOVING anyone who says your hair, clothes, anything reminds them of Stevie Nicks. - For songwriters: Writing a song and realizing that it is obviously heavily influenced by Stevie's music. - Thinking of Stevie anytime you see anyone in a tophat. - Wanting to get a Yorkie, and name it Sara Belladonna. - Getting angry at a friendly stranger who says, "You like Stevie Nicks? My favorite song by her is 'Black Velvet.'" - Chatting in the NicksFicks chatroom. - Only being satisfied when sitting in the first few rows at a concert. - Saving every picture of Stevie you like onto your computer. - Knowing all the acronyms, such as TISL, TWH, HAEWAFY, RTTG, BATB, TOSOTM, SOTM, ... etc... OK, that's all the ones I can think of.. I also do all the ones you've mentioned.. I especially love the one that someone thinks of you and calls you anytime they hear Fleetwood Mac or Stevie on the radio... ![]() |
