To be fair, Stevie has consistently said since The Dance interviews that she and LB get to have their love affair onstage and that it ends when they walk off that stage. In fact, she has been quoted as responding with "over my dead body" to LB seemingly joking statement that "you never know" if they may get back together.

For the most part, the whole "the love affair cannot end once the concert is over" is just us fans, for the most part myself included, discussing this issue, which, again, they have always flatly denied.

For my part, I think they know the whole drama thing sells tickets. But, I also think they are showing real emotion up there even though their actual actions (the Landslide hug, the Tusk fight, etc.) pretty much are the same "act" every night. I think it is possible to have both.

and it's Strand again who balances everything out. His subtleness (new word) strikes again. And don't forget: there can't be a fight if there are no feelings at all. And you can't play sweetness on stage every night if there is no connection.

This is a recycled interview from before the tour started. I'm sure a great deal has happened since then. It is interesting to read this interview and then read the Mojo one (Stevie, Mick, and Lindsey's comments) when the Mojo interview took place in NYC right around the 9/30 MSG show.

Exactly. That's why every article, every interview, every single thing includes talk of the "soap-opera" and the "romance" and the garbage. I say they give it a rest and concentrate on putting on a great show that isn't forced and stop giving interviews that perpetuate the same idiotic melodrama that makes them look like fools who must resort to harping on the past. It's tired.

I guess I just do not think it is possible to separate the drama from the music. I think it is, like they say, so intertwined when they get on stage that it just comes out and they cannot stop it even if they wanted to stop it, which they apparently do not.

Also, I agree the interviewers ask the same questions over and over again, which is arrgravating to us; we read every single interview But, the reporters must know they have to ask the questions that will sell the magazine, help sell ads for the magazine, etc. So, these interviewers, like LB and SN, recognize the power (financial and perhaps otherwise) of the on going LB/SN head trip drama. The only conclusion I can draw from this is people must still care about it if it is that big of a financial draw/boon.

Also, I went to four concerts and LB's PBS Soundstage taping. My seats ranged from the the front row to the handicap section to the first risers flanking the stage - so, I got what I think was a pretty good cross section of die-hard fans like us to "my sister gave me tickets to see these fossils on stage" Almost all of the latter were like "Do they date or something?" The in betweens were like, "I thought they broke up" or "Isn't he married now to someone else?" My point is those people probably make up the majority of the concert going public and they were interested and applauded every time LB and SN went into their routine. As long as there is that actual interest, you can bet reporters will ask about it and LN and SN will play it up (real or not) because it is what the vast majority of the concert going public want to see.

I'm not disputing the fact that reporters will ask those questions. What I find amusing is that Lindsey likes to talk about the music and how they are blah blah blah, yet he himself and all of the others take every opportunity to talk about the past. It has nothing to do with the music itself, it has to do with sales.

However, besides for us big-time fans and a handful of concertgoer, no one gives a **** about their relationship. Yeah, reporters love to ask about it because they know that that is what casual fans *remember* from the Rumours days, but no one really cares. It would be ludicrous to say that many people do nowadays.

And I believe that they can easily stop the rehearsed slow dancing and the Landslide garbage.
