Default FM on capitol radio today

Stevie, Mick and Lindsey did a 40 minute interview at lunchtime today, which I taped, so any quotes, are the "real thing". They played various tracks off SYW and Rumours. Just a few bits then....
firstly, they were given the award that Christine was presented with last month, by some guy( a radio listeners award for "Rumours").Whatever it was(eveidently some piece of sculpture), Mick said it was"interesting" , Stevie said it was "very pretty" and she bagged to take it home....

Mick said that Peter Green was "coming to the first show"-didn't say which one or where! Your guess is as good as mine!

When asked about the story behind "Destiny Rules", which they played, a rather flustered Stevie said,"sometimes things don't work out, because destiny gets in the way and makes them not work out"-interesting.... and asked why they don't play it in the set, she said it made the set "too long" and some" new stuff had to go", so SHE decided to drop it.

LB meanwhile, said his usual... 3 people had more room to manouver without Christine thing and gave the standard story behind "peacekeeper" which they played, but a really different version- much faster and the "chicken sound" has been replaced with lots of "ahhs"..can't say I cared for it really.

Asked why it had taken so long to come back to Europe-Stevie replied that "everyone had told them it was too expensive" but that she had really "wanted to come" and here she made me
laugh she said" If you want to take the music to the world esp Europe and esp to London, you have to go and have tea with the people of England. You can't just send the music across the ocean"....haha

Then there was a bit about how expensive their entourage was, Stevie said that they had managers for everything..makeup, hair, wardrobe, lighting, stage etc.

Finally at the end, when asked to pick a final record from SYW to play, Stevie said, she "couldn't even think of a song on the album"! and then said she "couldn't see a song on the album"..hmmm where are your glasses madam?
Mick said exactly the same thing!! Where's his? Stevie replied "I am a woman I can't make a decision" and promptly passed it to LB who at the DJ's suggestion said "SYW" and so it played them out.......good interview, quite funny in places too.

Thank you for the report. You taped the show? So you are the only one now who ownes the new Peacekeeper remix from the UK everyone is longing for? Could you perhaps post it somewhere on the net? That would be great. Thanks,
Stefan

Default oh dear...

..ummm...I can't believe I have this version, everyone wants to hear! Really?
..Well, there's a slight problem, I taped it onto a blank video tape (off the satellite tv/radio) and that tape is going to be taped over tomorrow night by the National Geographic channel ( something about extinct dodos....)...so unless, someone knows how to miraculously transfer my video tape recording onto the pc, I'm afraid, no-one else but me is going to be able hear it..oops..sorry

I have to say, though it's weird in that the whole song has been speeded up, it sounds almost like a disco song, and like I said the "chickens" are gone......shame, thats the good bit.

Default 95.8 Capital FM???????????

Hi Tuigirl!

When you say Capital, do you mean 95.8 Capital FM? I live in the US, but I listen to that station a lot via the internet while at work. And today of all days, I did not tune it. Damn. Oh well. And I'm dying to hear the remix to Peacekeeper. And yes, it probably did sound like a disco song to you because, that was the whole point of it being remixed, for club play. Me being a VJ (video jockey), I'm dying to get my hands on a copy. I will soon enough. Thanks for the info tough.

Travis

Destiny Rules....flustered Stevie...can't imagine why

I LOVE Stevie's tea quote...I think that may be signature and banner worthy

Default thanks

for posting, liked the quotes.
Now if we want to see/hear a flustered Steive some interviewer needs to get up the nerve to ask about EFO. Although I bet this is on the "Don't Ask About" list, bet DR was on that too...

Hi Travis..
Capital Gold radio is based in London somewhere but isn't on the 95.8 frequency you quoted, something like 1350, so I'm guessing it's not the station you listen to...never mind
hope you manage to get your hands on a copy of the remix..sure is interesting to say the least!

Gardenstate and Jade..hehe, yeah Stevie was flustered..the DJ just threw that question in, made her umm and ahh, some excuse about it not being in the set, so she hadn't thought about it in months ( words to that effect), so she had to think of an answer real quick!!
Which does make me wonder..how many of the stories behind the songs are pre-thought of, stock answers, if you will...quite a few I bet (LB's a good one for that isn't he?)

Nobody come up with an idea for getting my blank video onto the pc?.... haha, no guess not..... sorry folks....
