Default Start of a great day!

Just got up, and am in a very excited state (no, not that sort of state!!!!)
The day we have waited for has finally arrived. We are going to get to see the band we have loved for so many years, and not too far from home either!
Meeting a gang of friends at 4pm
Newcastle Telewest Arena is THE place to be tonight!

Can't wait

Dave

P.s Will post a review tomorrow (or tonight, if i'm not in too much of a frenzied state!)

Default Newcastle review

We met in a few posh pubs in Newcastle, quite a few of us by the time we were ready to go! Everyone was very excited - most of us had been fans since we were kids and had lived and breathed FMac and their music - so were all hyped up!
About 7.30 we headed towards the Arena in Newcastle, and joined the hoardes heading to see the best band in the world.
We were all really pleased with our seats. Mine was about 4-5 rows back from the stage, on Lindsey's side. Could've pinched a couple of seats nearer the stage, in front of Stevie - but i'm going to have more opportunities, so let my mother and her friend have them instead!!!
About 8.20pm heard the crickets stating to sing and knew that this was it....time for a magical evening with FLEETWOOD MAC.....
The place was packed...and everyone was antisipating the arrival of some very special people into the arena.
Before we knew, it the opening lines to THE CHAIN began and there they were, right in front of me...the people who's words and music had helped to shape my life!
Seeing Stevie walk onto the stage and smiling was an experience i will never forget...she has meant the world to me for so long.....(sorry ---slushy sentimentality taking over!!)
Seeing Lindsey too (for the first time - as i didn't get to see them on the TUSK tour) was something else!
Just gonna cut it short (ish) and say Stevie was beautiful/enigmatic/unique and Lindsey was a revelation too. His stage presence and guitar technique/ability was a joy to see/Mick was a showman - as always (could've done without the drum solo - but hey, i can understand why he does it, espescially in theUK/John - quiet & unasuming, but an integral part of the FM experience.
Many many highlights (everyone knows the setlist by now, so i'll not go into every song) but the one i have to pick out...is when Stevie turned her mike stand around to face Lindsey and then
proceeded to sing with him the most beautiful version of SAY GOODBYE....i was just blown away by that! After all these years their voices still sound like they were meant to sing together..
Anyway...
i'm going to see them again a few times while they're over here, so i didn't pay any attention to the merchandise stall or taking pics....as i would normally do, but i will get some good pics (i hope) when i see them on Tues in Birmingham
Thanks though must go to these fantastic musicians who put on such a fantastic show.....my throat is still recovering!!!!
