This interview made me feel sick to my stomach. I thought she was so much better that this, obviously she is full of it, and spouting whatever is needed at the time she is interviewed. It better have been done before Lindsey's heart attack because if it wasn't, man, she's a piece of work. To go on and on about how wonderful and happy and amazing everything is, GAG ME WITH A SPOON..........I did not enjoy reading this. |

Sheesh what an old hag..in some ways she is worse than Stevie. At least Stevie had a very tumultuous history with Lindsey and a very acrimonious breakup . Christine just finished an album and a tour with the man where she was gushing over how much she loved working with him. These people have no shame .What an abomination of a band they have become.

That was when they were fans... I was one of those people... I’m saying she lost a lot of those fans. I’m not really a fan anymore.

We heard how mad Chris was when Bob Welch sued them. I suppose she feels that way now.

While she is the heroine of my life, and I've tried my best to ignore some of the bad things(which began with her keeping Bob Welch out of the r&rhof), it's nearly impossible to give her a pass any longer.
FRAGILE OR NOT, her only loyalty seems to be to Dick. F*ck her greatest creative partner. Corporate shill indeed. PS- note how I didn't feel the need to quote that BIBLE length interview...

For what it’s worth, Christine has always gushed about whatever she’s currently promoting, while belittling whatever project she’d worked on previously. She’s done it with her pre ‘75 Mac albums, she did it with her solo albums, now she’s seemingly doing it with Buckingham McVie/the Mac Lindsey years. I remember when she denigrated In The Meantime after she rejoined the world, and I was absolutely flabbergasted. I thought that album was the best collection of songs she’d ever released (still do). After all these years, Chris is simply a well oiled PR machine. She’s arguably better at crafting an exacting message & repeating it ad nauseum than any of them. If Lindsey were ever to work with her again, she’d do the same thing- gush over him while discrediting Crowded Heartbreakers. It’s just what she does. You don’t stay in the pop music business 50 years without towing the line. Not that her words here don’t dismay me, but I also know not to take them at face value.

Denial. So much denial in this band.
Denial of their own age Denial of the productive time they have together Denial of how they currently sound on stage Denial of the magic that was the combination of the 5 Denial of any kind of family bond they should have I don't even have the words for that Christine interview. Sounds like Stevie and Mick have gotten a hold of her ear. Or as freakin spineless as it is, she's doing exactly what she is told. Azof is looming over this band now...She's got to keep it civil until September. Surely a warning was given when Lindsey let it slip that she reached out to him... So much of their behavior isn't new, it's trickled in at different points in time and true colors have been revealed before. This is just one really terrible culmination of all of it coming together at once and they really look like a group of rotten sh*ts at this point with no regard or respect. It's so incredibly crushing to invest so much of your life to enjoying this band, the music they made together, and the overall belief that there were some deep waters that held them together, that at the end of the day they really cared about one another and VALUED all the the progress they made post 1997. To see it all crumble is heartbreaking. Yes, we will always have the music. However it will be forever changed when so many can no longer respect those who made that music we all loved so much. A loss of perspective is an understatement. This is a group of folks in their 70s still pulling the same drug fueled irrationality of their youth. Egos, adoration, and money have replaced the booze, sex, and cocaine. As much of a gift Christine's return was, it ultimately upset the power equilibrium within the band in a way that we'll never fully understand. We thought they came out the other side as better people, that turned out to be false for the majority of them. Sad.

It’s like she’s in a cult or something. Blink twice for help, Chris.
Truly disgusting interview. |

What bothers me the most about the interview is the way she is so readily willing to put creativity aside, stall work on new music (which, even in this interview it’s clear she’d be ready to start at a moment’s notice) just to toe the corporate line. Mick and Stevie call the shots and she goes along with it all. Meanwhile, whatever song ideas she has (and by all accounts she has many) languish until what...she’s 80? |

They should get Billy and Rick back for the next tour and call it the 8788 Revival because they will all be about 87 or 88 years old!!!

Or perhaps, just maybe, Christine and the others simply grew tired of the wife beater's passive-aggressive, spiteful nature and outmoded musical ideas? Just sayin'...
PS Is he dead yet? |
