But really, that wasn't their 'old age'. Stevie and Mick weren't showing it. I doubt that John and Lindsey gave two flying fajitas about the AMAs, really... and it showed. Lindsey of course is NOT a late night person, and so having been carted around Europe, setting up here and there, rehearsing, checking in and out of places, carrying the lion's share of the responsibility for a 2 1/2 hour performance, I bet that the ONLY thing on his mind was BED. It's no surpirse that the award is of no great interest to he or John. You know what? They should have decided to just put Stevie and Mick there. Couldn't their PR minders see how dead the other two were?
I kid you not, anybody on this board would do a better job as the band's marketer, and god knows would only want in a return a hundredth of what the 'pros' actually get.

I totally, totally, TOTALLY agree...

It is just RIDICULOUS that the band has such an AWFUL set of marketers and promoters.

I don't see how on earth they can actually call themselves "professional promoters" when they SUCK so bad at such an EASY job. 37 year old, multi-million dollar, multi platinum selling super-rock-band, currently consisting of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.......it's not exaclty difficult to market in a sensible way is it?!?!

I agree, and Stevie's solo career isn't handled much better. Every Day as the first single?

Sometimes I think they read this board just to see how effectively they can do the opposite.
We can't take Stevie out of BlackDress or Lindsey out of FruitoftheLoomTee, that's what the Ledgies want.
We can't book the band on Letterman, that's what the Ledgies want.
We can't release THOSE songs, that's what the Ledgies want.
We can't change the setlist, that's what the Ledgies want.

Fleetwood Mac is a sure seller, which is probably why they don't more promotion. The labels probably feel that their efforts are best aimed at the next big thing i.e. the group that's going to sell 25 million copies for them. FM has already done that and it's probably viewed as a once in a lifetime phenominon.

-Clay and Rubben were NOT meant to sing together. They have no harmony or spark whatsoever.
-Clay needs to eat a pork sandwich before he blows away with the Santa Ana winds.
-Britney Spears lipsynched her entire song and probably disappointed a lot of males because no navel was in sight.
-Dennis Franz is quite diminutive and round. Not a good combo.
-Paula Abdul needs several Botox injections. I could store chicken breasts in her sagging cheeks.
-Justin Timberlake is not sexy at all and I don’t see why people think so. He should at least have some body weight and a good haircut before people believe so.
-Ashanti seems like a diva. I bet she demands that the red carpet is rolled out for her every time she needs to use the john.
-Temporary body art is *so* passe and 1998.
-Anorexic chests do not look good in J Lo knock-off dresses.
-Sean Paul needs to take speech therapy.
-Hilary Duff looked like a cross between Stevie Nicks and a streetwalker.
-Toby Keith needs a swift kick in the ass.
-If I was sitting behind Tim McGraw, I would’ve ripped that damn hat off of him. Rude schmuck.
-Kid Rock needs to stop drinking cheap liquor. He’s rich enough to buy top-shelf liquor.

Dissention - what can I say ? A voice of reason and an always hysterical commentary. I lucked out and turned this swill on 5 seconds before that phoned in morgue performance. Thus, I was spared the torture that you described. The music industry is in absolute disarray and this show was proof. There is a catastrophic lack of talent and charisma in the acts being promoted. That's why the industry is not making good sales anymore.
My only retort to your comments is about Paula Abdul. I worked with her a few months ago and she looks pretty great close up in person. On top of that, she was kind, funny, and totally professional (to comment on her musical abitities is too easy a potshot even for me). She is also small enough that I could have damned near picked her up and put her in my pocket - if not for the out of scale implants she was sporting.

Sorry gldstwmn, I had to laugh at this because Britney OPENED the show. So, (I know you might not have known that) it's like you're saying you lost interest in the show before it even started! I don't know, call me weird, but it was funny to me.

The problem I find with Peacekeeper is Stevie's choice (I guess it's a choice) to sing the lower harmony instead of the higher one that she sings on the studio version. I don't know why she hugs that lower register when her voice sounds better in the higher range. To me, she seems to have a bit of bass-deafness, which is what I have. I can hardly ever hear lower harmonies or can distinguish the difference between lower notes. But I mean, for me one of the best parts of Peacekeeper was Stevie's belting "don't TELL WHY!" She doesn't do that live, and I don't know if she's off key or what, but singing lower harmony makes the song sound blah to me.

Well I am in Germany and waited years for them to play live and what I saw was an awesome show with a great sound, great playing and singing in Oberhausen. I am sure they sounded the same in Kiel. If it sounds weird on TV perhaps it's a mixing problem. I remember that I was embarassed after having seen the Summer series opening thing in March or whenever it was. People who attended the show live said it sounded good. I did not believe it- now I know that they sound good live.
As for Peacekeeper. It`s a great pop song but doesn`t translate live as good as others possibly would. (nothing beats "Come" live imo) It's live just O.K. and not great. But it surely is not bad as I can assure you after seeing it live.
