I thought the performance was drab, but I am happy they won!

Default yay

they won, and we on the west coast finally got to see the west coast show on tape delay (oh the irony). I think Lindsey desperatly needed some coffee, expresso anyone? As for John are we sure he wasn't another cardboard cut out? Can't say I am thrilled about PK, but kinda figured it was that or SYW, really suprised they won though since I thought it was based on radio among other things and I was figuring it would go to Matchbox 20. Glad it went the Mac, more press for them Oh and thank goodness Stevie said something about thanking the fans, at least her and Mick seemed excited, yeah I know time change and all but really!

Those saying they looked tired and unexcited:

It was 3am or something, and they had almost certainly been told they were going to win. You could tell from reading Lindsey that he knew they had won, given the scenario.
So in the context, I think they did alright in terms of vivacity.

Didn't you hear Mick? "We're alive and well!"

Well it was like 3 AM there when they went to the live feed, and they had just finished a show a couple hours before... I'm sure they were worn out! They're only human.

I was completely surprised that they won against much younger groups. A good day for FM

My reaction when they won: "WOO-HOOO!!!"

My reaction when I heard the first notes of "Peacekeeper": "Aw, crap, 'Peacekeeper' again!"

Lindsey could have mustered some enthusiasm for the song (I hope he was more energetic for the rest of the concert), but Stevie was great... she sounded fantastic, and she was wonderfully animated.

She was also adorable in the live feed clips.

Well, my friends kept telling me that FM would win because Nov. 16 is my birthday and they are my favorite band...looks like they were right! I actually screamed and clapped so loud the neighbors heard me. I actually didn't think the AMA's would have the good sense to actually award this to the band that deserved it. I thought Matchbox would win. I was DELIGHTFULLY proven wrong. Could this mean a Grammy may happen?

Who woulda thought Pink could actually sing. Definitely a WISE career move, choosing to do that acoustic song.
I was floored by that performance, totally impressed by how well she delivered it, showing off some range in the process. It actually took me by surprising since I find most of her songs bland and somewhat irritating. It was, by far, the best performance of the night. Go Pink.

Glad FM took the Favorite Band award. Hopefully, it will translate into new album sales and spark some interest in the new singles at radio (I know, longshot). On that token, I thought it was a HUGE marketing mistake that they showed the Peacekeeper clip (great for us fans, in terms of collecting). They should have taped a separate performance just for the show. No one would have known the difference. Steal Your Heart Away might have been a good choice since it's already been played live, a la SoundStage.

Loved the Stevie leg-slapping moment. And her kooky laugh. She's so cute.

Um.. the gig was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. It wasn't on the night of the awards so nothing to do with that

OK, I fell asleep shortly after starting this thread (I think it was Rod Stewart that put me to sleep because it's the last thing I remember) so I missed like everything
Can someone post a list of who they were up against (the other nominees in their category)? And if anyone knows where I might be able to check out their performance online, that would be awesome.

Well in all honesty, they ARE old...and they had to be exhausted. I am 23 and if I were in their shoes at that point, I'd be half-dead looking too. Plus, you have to figure the tape delay in there too....they were quite obviously several seconds off, so everything was jumbled (talking when Jimmy Kimmel was talking, etc...). And after listening to Macy Gray RAMBLE on and ON , I didn't really care to hear anyone talk a lot.

Well, really...just listen to any Peacekeeper bootleg from this year, and there you have the performance. It's not a bad song, but on stage it's about the same every time. Personally, I'm glad they showed PK over something old...it would have been a HUGE mistake to go with Rhiannon, GYOW, Don't Stop, or Landslide for the umteenth time.

On the other hand, if Stevie would have a greater role in Come, that would have just blown the audience away...but they needed something short with the full band, so PK it was.
