People being excited about seeing Fleetwood Mac does not mean they're celebrating the end of the Rumours 5. Although I was devastated when Lindsey left FM in 1987, I was still excited to hear how the 2 new members would fit in with the band. Same thing now, no difference.

Your comments about Lindsey made me think... in 1987 when he left the band right on the eve of their tour, I suppose people could have been as angry with him then as they are at the band now. One could say he showed no loyalty when he ran out on them, after agreeing to a tour, no less. Dates were scheduled, and after an argument, he up and left. Would you consider what he did a betrayal? I'm going to say no. But it's different when the show's on the other foot, apparently. And yes, I know why Lindsey left FM back then... he and the band addressed it years later. So maybe years later, we'll find out what went down this time.

To me, this is just a repeat of 1987, only instead of Lindsey quitting the band, he was fired. So it was ok for Lindsey to quit the band for his own happiness, but not for the band to fire him for their own happiness?

As for me, I'll just let the music of FM speak for itself. I'm not throwing away my FM CDs, nor am I going to apologize for being excited about seeing FM live. I am a fan of FM. Buster, you clearly aren't a fan anymore, by your own admission in this post. So if you want to continue to post about how much you hate FM on a FM fan board, go right ahead. But don't expect fans to quit posting about their love for FM on a FM fan board.

The description said 2 FM classic songs, so that would automatically exclude Stop Dragging. I hope SYLM isn't played, but it's definitely a possibility.

I still think Little Lies and Rhiannon. One of the songs will likely be a showcase for Mike Campbell's guitar playing.

I shouldn’t be.....but I am sort of excited to see them.

My husband, not huge fan, was shocked nay gobsmacked when
I told him no no no it’s Lindsey they’ve sacked.(I had already told him umpteen times)..

He didn’t know, like many lukewarm fans....

the band didn't fire him for "their" own happiness. They fired him for STEVIE's happiness. Chris wasn't even consulted until the deed was done. John took convincing by both Mick and Stevie per Mick's own interviews. STEVIE was unhappy, she gave Mick an ultimatum. Together those TWO people set a course, and then went about convincing others it had to be done. John wasn't unhappy. Chris wasn't unhappy. I don't even believe MICK was unhappy-- not until Stevie made HER unhappiness known and threatened to walk away. The thought of his paycheck going away is what made Mick unhappy.

I can whine and see Lindsey all at the same time. How many Lindsey's shows will you attend?

No Lindsey songs, so I won't be watching. I'm usually working during daylight. I didn't even waste my time watching that interview with Anthony Mason. What was the point if Lindsey wasn't there?

How can anyone believe (or choose to believe) Lindsey was fired because the rest of the band, ALL OF THEM, were unhappy with him, when two days before that they were dancing, laughing and receiving awards....

I think this is a good guess. They won't want to play anything that's too long. I will add Everywhere and Landslide. What a news release calls "a hit" isn't really all the specific, IMHO.

OMG really??? Stop Dragging isn't classic FM??

What would I do without you?

I'm was throwing a long guess to see if they did something like that an called it classic FMac. I could honestly see them pondering that and the network screwing up the log line. (A log line is the description of the show in a sentence or two.)

There's a FM tribute band I've seen a few times, and they do Stop Draggin....
So if one tribute band can play it, another should be able to, too.

I agree, but two members of the current FM were on the original recording. I could easily see them doing it.
