Esp when her husband NEVER talks about these things. (I'm not sure why I have to keep reminding people of this fact-for whatever reason, legal or not, Lindsey does not talk about anything like this-stop assuming everyone needs to get in front of a camera and bare their soul-he doesn't
)

Of course Kristen will speak the truth, and if she has the balls to call these losers out in the social media, then you better believe that she's spot on. Otherwise, she would have stayed quiet. They could have ripped her to shreds if she was lying. But they haven't because she is telling the truth.
Seriously, the fact that we STILL have to explain that Lindsey never speaks about anything baffles me.

I agree that there's a lot more to the story. If there's an "impasse" and they "couldn't agree," why wouldn't Lindsey quit? Firing is a consequence of something a lot deeper than disagreement, especially in this situation.

Quote:
You know, kind of like back in 1987, when FM came to an impasse and Lindsey left the band in the lurch, leaving them scrambling.
That's a strange way to retell that story. That's not what I recall reading about it. Band members were stoned and not committed to working hard during the making of that album, so Lindsey was sickened at the prospect of touring (explaining that when things are crazy in the studio, the insanity multiplies ten times on the road). He told them he didn't want to tour under those circumstances, and they cajoled him into agreeing to tour anyway. They booked shows, the true horror of his situation rose up and slammed him in the face (sitting in his car outside their meeting), and he went back on his earlier agreement. Fleetwood responded by telling him "We're touring anyway" and hired two other guys. THAT'S what happened. It really was a firing. It was not professional for Lindsey to reluctantly agree and then to back out, but it was understandable: he was in emotional anguish over the prospect of going on the road with drug-addled, distant colleagues. Perhaps he should have gone anyway, but Fleetwood should have taken his feelings into consideration. Fleetwood's never been very good at that, except when it comes to Stevie. He takes HER feelings into consideration. I think he did it again this year, sacrificing Lindsey for Stevie.

This is the real breakup then. The breakup happened/didn't happen in '77.

Richard tweeted again (I think implying that he's spoken to Lindsey recently-- after he went to one of BM shows he posted about it and said he'd be keeping closer contact with both of them) saying he can "confirm" Lindseys crushed and in a lot of pain over what's happened and Richard thinks it's not right that this is happening.

I wouldn't have expected him to be thrilled and happy dancing but it's still pretty upsetting to hear that he's really hurt. I think that would explain his wife continuing to talk about the situation. I think on here it's easy to forget that these are still people with feelings and this is probably a really difficult time.

People that have known each other for more than 50 years. So, yeah, I guess it's not that easy to "let it go", as many have implied that he and we should do.

My heart is breaking for Lindsey.

Richard also tweeted this:
"I've been asked to convey the well wishes and feelings of my followers to Lindsey. I think July 4th would be a good day in which to do this. Independence Day seems very appropriate & I believe this will give him a lift. A personal thank you for your love & support."

Apparently we're all suppose to be able to just "get over" things in an instant. Well, I think some people should have some more empathy.

And one more tweet from Richard:

"I just texted Lindsey your feelings and got an immediate response. He sincerely thanked me for all your messages of support and I could tell it meant a lot to him. Sometimes we need others words of appreciation to get us over the hump and remind us of our own self worth. Thanks."

Oh, to be able to text Lindsey Buckingham........

I wouldn't bother him, but just imagine...............

Bless Richard Dashut, what a dear heart. So glad he got our sentiments across to Lindsey!

As an aside--- that RS interview about the "Let's not say he was fired because it sounds (makes us look) ugly" -- nauseatingly despicable. I'll not get too much more descriptive to save your sensitivities, but, oh boy oh boy.

Thankfully my opinion of them had flat-lined some time ago already-- and STILL it effected me that strongly. I cannot even imagine the people who still held Stevie, specially, in high regard. And I feel for all of us. What ticks me off is how that never even entered into anything, for them. I wonder if they've ever had their Heroes betray them. Maybe they cannot recall, those octogenarians.

Thank you Nancy for "pouring" over the resources to clarify what LB did and didn't say!

Without overanalysing specific phrasing, I think it's fair to note that 'hiatus' and 'taking leave of' suggest potentially very different notions of finality.

Also my thoughts go out to you for having to transcribe that painful interview...

I know this will be an unpopular notion, but I still see a possibility of a Lindsey return. Not for this tour, but afterwards. If history has taught us one thing, it’s that Stevie fawns over her collaborators profusely, then shows them the door just as abruptly as they appear. I suspect these “yes men” eventually bore her. She says she wants calm & peace, but turmoil fuels her. This is why despite some truly ugly situations, she’s always returned to Lindsey. He’s probably the only person left living who will stand up to her.

For those who will inevitably throw the age thing out there, spare me.

She’s horribly dysfunctional.

Then again, so is he.
