you're right, it does have that feeling like a death..... in ways it didn't during any previous departures (Lindsey, Christine)

To lighten the mood, someone is suggesting that they should replace Lindsey with Bill Hader's LB impression from SNL

Priceless.

These p*ssies need to get over it. If you're not happy with the current lineup, just don't go to the concert(s). I just want new music, but I won't hold my breath.

the fact that the band as I've loved it no longer exists, because of treachery behind the scenes, yes, feels like a sort of death.

You're welcome to feel differently.

so unfair to Yoko. breaking the band may be the only thing they have in common.

I do feel differently. I know what death feels like. Having a child die, or a parent, or a spouse or good friend die, yes, that is beyond words.

Someone I don't know, have never met, and have never spoken to gets fired from a rock band. Yes, it definitely feels different than death. For me, anyway. Maybe I'm made of different stuff.

Yes, I know what death feels like. I've lost several people close to me in the last 5-6 years.

I won't tell you how to process your grief, and please don't tell me how to process mine.

ETA: The very title of this thread says "RIP Fleetwood Mac". The band as we thought we knew it is no more. Maybe we should change the name of this thread??

i know. unbelievable what some people think they are entitled to tell you.
meanwhile, some people cannot fathom or process themselves that someone they considered an icon is just not.... well let;s say.... a very nice person. i know that's hard and disappointing. but it is what it is, and very sad.

i so wanna just sit back, have some caramel popcorn, and watch this chimeric version of FM implode.

NO!

this tittle is apt. if some people disagree and cannot accept, they should not post in this thread. simple.

Hey, if a millionaire you've never met gets fired from a rock band and that feels the same to you as a child dying, that is totally your right. I definitely won't tell you how to process your grief, especially for a man you've never met, who's got a beautiful, by all accounts healthy family, a successful career that's ongoing, with an album ready for release anytime, and plenty of money that he'll probably never have to work again. If despite all that, you think his firing from a band is equal to a child's death, that's your right.

Sigh. When did reading become optional?

For the last time, let me say this:

It is not that Lindsey Buckingham, multi millionaire, got fired.

It's that the band of five, who represented such a great part of my memories of many years of my life, is now no longer, and that it was torn apart in such an ugly, nasty way.

It's the loss of that last connection to many meaningful times enjoying their music, and the knowledge I'll never get to repeat that magic in person, in concert, again.

Again, if you don't care, that's fine. I'm not the one being b*tchy to you about how you respond to what's going on. To each their own.

Well, some people have snorted too many glitter farts from you know who's a*s.

I totally get your point and sympathize with your feelings.

Some people don't get it because they STILL hasn't processed the fact that you know who destroyed FM, so everything that comes after that is non existant to them

And, some of us who are fans of the entire history of the band and see this as just another chapter in a sh*tshow of epic magnitude. In some way, I’d almost be more upset if they had the predictable happy ending.

(That said, I think they blew it by not sacking Stevie last year…)
