Headline from the local paper...Here is Another Hit to Baby Boomers... "One of the surest ways to feel old is to listen to the radio and hear songs from your childhood... "Radio is an ever changing thing, especially on an oldies station!" said Jeff Gold a DJ! People seem to want to hear music that was popular when they were teenagers! "As the years go by, newer songs become the oldies! That's just the nature of the beast! So...roll over Chuck Berry and make room for FLEETWOOD MAC our latest oldie!" P.S.Wonder what The Mac would think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Considering how much they're promoting their 1975-1977 material THIS tour, I think that's what "demographic" they're trying to appease.

It's odd, there's a station here in my area that totes 80's music as "Oldies"....I have always despised that term...

Well the statement that Fleetwood Mac is oldies is pretty fair. Other than hardcore fans like ourselves, I think a lot of people might not even know about SYW. Most people I talk to are surprised to hear that they made a new album and are now on tour. When I say Fleetwood Mac, they wanna talk Rumours. The songs from SYW aren't getting a whole lot of play on the radio stations here, but the old stuff is getting tons of play. I heard 'You Make Lovin' Fun' on our local oldies station, and 'Go Your Own Way' is played in a comercial for a 'Lite' (haha...wouldn't call GYOW "lite"...it's kinda angry but whatever) music station, along with a clip from The Dance.

They aren't oldies they're classic rock!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it....Beatles are not oldies either....when I hear the horrid phrase "oldies" I think of cheesy songs like "Little Old Lady from Pasedena" and like just super super poppy songs....but yeah...I'd classify FM as "classic rock" before oldies anyday!

Luckily for me...we have a great classic rock station in Atlanta that plays 60s, 70s, and 80s rock/pop music...and they have even started playing some very early 90s stuff....they love Fleetwood Mac...and play them all the time...I dont even think we HAVE an oldies station anymore
