maybe i just had a bad week, if you all feel like this is non-provoked jumping on you, feel free to remove.
I know who he is, I just thought it was funny he was standing there where Stevie would have been.

Sorry if I offended.

I don't understand how some fret over a very mild mannered joke in a forum. Maybe its the language or cultural barriers since we are in different countries or something?
Its funny how 2 people can read something and have different meanings. I never read anyone making fun of Stevie or saying anything derogatory against anyone.

What annoys me is how full of crap they're being about it being a duets album, like saying they recruited Mick and John because they're the best rhythm section in the world. No, it was always supposed to be a Fleetwood Mac album, which is why Mick and John are on it. Just be honest about it. Just say that it started as a Fleetwood Mac album, Stevie didn't want to participate, and that it morphed into something different. It's still crap, but at least it approaches the truth.
You're right, of course. But in the end, I'm actually glad they're pushing another story because it asks us to see their work on its own terms independent of Mac expectations. There is something freeing about that, no matter how disingenuous they're being about the project's origins. This alternative history, as it were, also removes any discussion of Stevie: they don't have to speak to her absence, and reviewers don't have to discuss it. What we focus on is the music itself.

All these song clips are so tantalising... I agree, there are definitely a number of 'references' to earlier tracks - as Fuzzy Plum mentioned, that guitar riff is just like 'Wrong', for example; the 'You and I' bit, the 'Big Love' grunts... All very deliberate, I'm sure, and no doubt there are more to come. But I don't mind that at all - anyway, lots of guitarists recycle riffs.

I know 'In My World' hasn't been embraced by everyone here, but I really love it - it already sounds like a minor classic to me! That might be because it's been played so much on the radio in the UK. It was even a question on the daily 'Popmaster' quiz on BBC Radio 2's Ken Bruce show this morning!

I love IMW. Great tune, great drums and bass, too. My only complaint is that Christine should be singing on it, or--for those that feel she is singing in it--singing audibly.

YouTube/Buckingham & McVie

Lindsey Buckingham & Christine McVie fans frothing at the mouth in anticipation of their debut solo album and first-ever solo tour together can whet their appetites with a newly posted behind-the-scenes video. The short documentary provides insight into the making of their upcoming duo release Buckingham/McVie, which will hit shelves June 9 via Rhino Records.

Rolling Stones reports on May 25 that the Fleetwood Mac stars posted the clip on Thursday at their official YouTube channel. The documentary follows in the wake of the release of two singles “In My World,” as well as “Feel About You,” which were released last month.

Dubbed “The Making of the Album… Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie,” the video was shot in in Los Angeles at the Village Studios. The footage features studio work and comments by Buckingham and McVie, as well as appearances by Mac bandmates Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, who are also featured extensively on the album.

“Our music seemed to evolve organically,” says Christine McVie in the documentary. “I was sending Lindsey (Buckingham) my rough demos and he sort of refined them and reshaped them into what's turned out to be some of best material ever.”

Produced by Buckingham along with Mitchell Froom and Mark Needham, Buckingham/Christine McVie features 10 tracks, including the singles “In My World” and “Feel About You.” It is available here for preorder here in CD, digital and vinyl formats.

The pair of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will kick off their U.S. summer tour on June 21 in Atlanta at Chastain Park and will wrap up July 27 in Denver at The Paramount. Tickets for select Buckingham & McVie events are available now at AXS.

The multi-platinum sellers will also be back in action with Fleetwood Mac for a pair of shows for The Classic Concerts. The “You Can Go Your Won Way” hitmakers will headline a bill that also features special guests Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire at Classic West on July 15 in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium with the same lineup will perform at Classic East on July 30 in New York at Citi Field.

Sorry, but it's annoying how they're going out of their way to rewrite the history of this album.

Lindsey Buckingham Says Fleetwood Mac Had Doubts Over New Buckingham-McVie Album

Subscribe to Ultimate Classic Rock

Lindsey Buckingham has revealed that the members of Fleetwood Mac had doubts over their contributions to the new duets album he wrote with Christine McVie.

His comments were made in a 17-minute documentary clip that goes behind the scenes at recording sessions for the LP, which arrives on June 9. The tracks “In My World” and “Feel About You” were released last month.

The project had its roots in McVie’s return to Fleetwood Mac in 2014, a move that led to a rekindling of a writing partnership with Buckingham. When Stevie Nicks decided she didn’t feel right about a new Fleetwood Mac record, Buckingham and McVie decided to continue working among themselves, before bringing in Mac bandmates Mick Fleetwood and John McVie to the project.

“One of the things we thought about was to create an environment that was a departure, but also one that was familiar and felt like home,” Buckingham says in the above video. “We immediately thought of John and Mick, the greatest rhythm section there is. It was a wonderful idea on paper. Whether or not that played out remained to be seen. We didn’t go in assuming it was going to be wonderful. We knew we loved each other and we wanted to do it. But whether the process would be as enlightening and effortless as it seems to have been was another question.”

That comment is followed by a scene in Los Angeles’ Village Studios, where Buckingham reports that they’ve been working together for only an hour but “the chemistry is running rampant here.”

McVie described the project as a “fresh beginning,” adding, “Coming back into the band after 16 years, and to take off into another level with Lindsey, again – I guess I’ve rediscovered by love for writing, my love for music.”

Buckingham and McVie will start a brief U.S. tour next month, while Fleetwood Mac appear at the new Classic East and Classic West festivals, in New York and Los Angeles, respectively, in July.

I agree completely. BUT, I've been thinking about what someone said, that around SYW era, that Stevie and Lindsey's lawyers (most likely Stevie's though) now have her as part of the BRAND Fleetwood Mac, that it can't be FM without her.

Maybe it's true, maybe not...but I can see that being a distinct possibility. I mean, it PISSES me off, but maybe that's the reason...?

If so, off with her head!!!

Okay, I was out of town, and just saw this. I LOVE it!!!!! The camaraderie between them is so obvious, and so touching. I can't wait for the album and my show!!!!!

I firmly believe that they're so relieved to just being doing this themselves. Well, and with John. Oh yeah, and with Mick, too. Something's missing....DRAMA!

Politically correct at worst. No one cares about the "history" of the album, we're just stoked that we have this ****ing music!
