Buckingham Nicks set list

This was the set list for their Buckingham Nicks concert, according to the band member (what's his name?) who participated in the Q&A. The big mystery songs are Heartbreaker and You Won't Forget Me. Surprised they didn't perform Without A Leg To Stand On. Out of 5,000 people in attendence, someone must have recorded it!!! At least I hope so.

If they did indeed perform Blue Letter, that contridicts Lindsey's story about the Curtis Brothers (the writers) recording in the same studio during the making of the Fleetwood Mac album.

is "Lady from the Mountain" in fact "Lady from the Mountain" or is it "Sorcerer"? I guess we won't know till the bootleg shows up.

Regarding "Blue Letter":

If I recall the chronology, Lindsey & Stevie had already joined Fleetwood Mac and were working on the album when the Buckingham Nicks gig in Birmingham came up. They took a break from recording with Mick, John & Christine to play the gig.

Another theory...Lindsey said that the Curtis Bros were in the next studio...he really didn't clarify if it was when they were recording with Fleetwood Mac or just working on the demos of the new tunes around the time when Mick showed up at the studio.

Cool! Interestingly, one of the early piano demos from the master reels of "How Still My Love" is labeled "You Won't Forget Me."

Also, I think "Lady from the Mountain" is "Sorcerer" & not "Lady from the Mountain" (which used to be known as "Lady from the Mountain Part 2").

I agree with David. It probably was Sorcerer, because when Stevie introduced that song on the TISL tour, she mentioned several times that she and Lindsey performed that song live a few times "before we joined Fleetwood Mac" and how Waddy was there. Considering he played on both Buckingham Nicks and the White Album, I'd say this makes sense.

I heard a rumour that someone has a BN concert on CD from someone who bought it in Japan. Anyone know about this for sure?

We've figured out what the other songs are but what is Heartbreaker? Are the only other songs from that era that are still unreleased Cathouse Blues and Without You?

I don't know of any Buckingham Nicks concert around (although I bet Tom or Hoppy has some live stuff on tape). B+N opened for bands like Poco & Mountain, so I've often wondered whether rabid fans of those bands had any of those concerts taped.

It's probably the same as the batch of songs that includes "Designs of Love" ("That's Alright"), "Sorcerer," "You Could Forget" ("Garbo")," "Without You" & "Nomad" ("Candlebright"). They all originally appeared on the "Almanac" vinyl bootleg in 1978, along with "Secret Love," "Goldfish & Ladybug" & "Watchdevil" (which isn't older than 1978).

It is likely that "Designs of Love," "Sorcerer," "You Could Forget," "Without You," "Cathouse Blues" & "Nomad" were some of the songs Lindsey & Stevie recorded at some point after they left Fritz in 1971 & before they joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975. Lindsey didn't demo songs with Stevie after the Fleetwood Mac machine got rolling, & these all feature Lindsey & Stevie on vocals & Lindsey on guitar or banjo & on bass. They're all in a somewhat primitive state of multitracking, which could mean that this was about the time Lindsey got his multitrack machine & used it to record him & Stevie at his dad's coffee plant in Menlo-Atherton. Stevie told a DJ once that this was a batch of songs that was taken from her (I guess without her permission) by a specific person who knew her from her Hollywood Hills home (which was notorious for the groupies & camp followers that used to hang out there). These were the first demos that ever leaked ("Almanac").
