I definitely do not think the seller is lying even if its not the same exact cape. At the original auction this is how it was probably sold to them. The seller bashers should take up the claim with the original auction. Not this seller who is selling the piece many years later how it was sold to him/her. This cape did not come out of "nowhere" and is not being sold by someone NOT affiliated with selling rock star memorabilia. Research the seller's store before you cast judgment.

Oh certainly. I agree the seller seems to believe the claim, and they seem nice and polite enough.
But besides being convinced that it is not THE Wild Heart cloak from the obvious discrepancies in photographic proof we have, I personally am convinced Stevie would have not worn a cape made of such sub-par fabric on any occasion. Not where she had access to some great designers and the best silk velvets around.

Macfan4life, if you think of bidding, is there a way you can get to a fabric store around you before then maybe.. I just wish I could make you feel and see the difference between the synthetic and cotton velvet and the real deal .
But, ultimately, it's your decision, do what makes you feel happy. You only live once!

Just one more thing about why this does not sit right with me as a Stevie Nicks cloak. This coming from a costumer and fervent seamstress, even if not a pro.

The cut of the cloak is so masculine. It's very unflatteringly cut for a short female, the fabric seems to be gathered and bunched at the shoulders, rather than the flattering circle cut, where the cloak nips in at the shoulders and lays almost flat there, to fan out at the bottom in a nice full swirl. This design will make one look very poofy. Specially unflattering in this style of fabric

Also, the "folded away and buttoned" hood part, and the point of it, are something I do not recall ever seeing her wear, in images. The hoods on her cloaks I have seen have the round cut.

Just things on my hinky-meter.

And now I'll hush. Just was trying to make people beware and research before they spend such a sum I guess.

I agree with all of that. The Wild Heart cover is so magical with lighting that its hard to tell if the lighting makes it look like velvet or even the color. That was done intentionally and is a great effect. I am not bidding on the cape but I would love to wear it and dance around it in for a minute or two
I agree with you. The seller is not lying to anyone. They are selling an item they bought from an auction with this claim. As someone else pointed out, this looks like a Hard Rock Café item. Those items are sometimes reproductions or just signed by the artist. This could have been part of a huge Stevie wardrobe that we may never know if she ever wore.

Exactly. Stevie's lighting on that tour was dark for some reason. I think that may have been the trend at that time.
