I think there's so much more to it than that... As we have all learned, what Stevie tells the press should be taken with less than a grain of salt. I personally think Stevie's run out of inspiration, therefore taking a toll on her songwriting. The "songs written about Lindsey while on tour" vault has been emptied - nothing new there. No new loves in her life - so we get rehashed stories from her days on the road, or things like the Kennedys

It would be embarrassing for her to return to FM with nothing but old songs, or really bad new ones, when Chris and Lindsey have been consistently writing.. I think she's just too prideful, and is biding her time until everyone else calls it quits so she can just do what she likes without the pressure of competition

I get what you're saying because it is an art and it is something that you would think they/she would want to share just because they want to share their art. However it is also their careers. It is her career. For example, as much as I like like helping people, I would not be doing mammograms and xrays, which is what I do for a living, for free. Even though at this point it's a moot point, it's still obviously really bothers her that she would be doing something and not get paid for it. Yes she is probably very rich, but that still doesn't mean she doesn't want to get paid. Who knows what her finances are?

This subject of internet music stealing seems to really bother Stevie, and then she'll seem to pull yourself out of it and record albums like 24 karat Gold. So I wouldn't bet that she's not going to record any more albums.
I don't know a lot about astrology, but I do remember that Gemini's tend to change their mind a lot. She definitely has a history of that.

What if the opposite is true... What if she does still feel inspired... By Lindsey? And so her pride is just that she doesn't want to work intimately with these songs that are still about him?

It's like forgetting which excuse you used because you're making them up as you go along.

Just when I thought I'd heard every excuse come from her, she brings up youth and technology. Um hello, the industry has always been hard to break into. And guess what Stevie, you did it with amazing songwriting. Now you say the only reason you don't want to create is because it's hard again for you? Girl, please...

Judging from the tone of her recent interviews re: the current tour, you'd think she was all about mixing up the set and doing different songs. I read into that the implication that the rest of the band are the ones who insist on a "greatest hits" set every time... But then Lindsey's solo sets would indicate otherwise.

So maybe it's Mick and John that don't want to learn any new songs?!

When Christine toured she did a lot of her new album. Spare Me A Little, Just Crazy Love, as pre LB/SN tracks. It was a fantastic set. So maybe you're right. It's mick! John doesn't care.

Oh, she is such a gemini. It's almost laughable how much of a gemini she is.

I thought that was so rude. Maybe she didn't mean it that way but it comes across very dismissive and disrespectful. As if she's saying "I know the album will be good because Christine will make it good, Lindsey who?" It's one thing to have your issues with a coworker but you shouldn't disrespect their work. Very tacky imo.

Well that being said, it's historically been Lindsey that has put down most of Stevie's work.. what he said about her early solo albums.. Destiny Rules songwriting "Bob Dylan" drama..

I think years of putting up with his ego led her to create one even bigger than his to protect herself. She always said that without Lindsey, her songs would be nothing but little piano demos, but when asked about her songs, he was usually very passive or condescending.

I've listened to many song introductions on tour from bootlegs from Tusk and Mirage.. When Lindsey would introduce Sara, it was also quite dismissive. Introducing Sara, he would say "this was the other single of the infamous Tusk album, one of Stevie's called Sara". - This, said extremely condescendingly. Introducing Gypsy once, he said "Well this is the soon-not-to-be-current single, one that Stevie called Gypsy".

So at some point, I think walking away from someone who never appreciated you for what you were is a vital part of establishing healthy boundaries in relationships, something that Stevie has never really done well.

Her silence about Lindsey was probably about as rude as his silence about her when he wouldn't talk to the interviewer at Rolling Stone magazine when she was on the cover a few years back. I thought that was tacky.

See the thing that gets me about the piracy comments is that I feel like the people who are stealing music are not listening to Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac. Typically those 20 somethings she talks about are just looking for whatever the newest top 40 hip hop single of the week is. Stevie really does have a growing fan base of young people today. I'm 18 and I know of plenty of other dedicated fans my age who are more than willing to purchase her albums because of the love of Stevie and her music. I can't see that much of a loss regarding young people just stealing; however, I see where she's coming from since artists definitely deserve to be compensated for their work. I hope this is just another one of her phases that she'll come out of.

I know there were moments in the past but that was like 30 years ago I don't think it's really all that relevant anymore. I've read a lot of recent interviews and he's always complimentary of her songs and everything.

And I've heard intros where he says things like "This is a very pretty song from the equally pretty Stevie" "This is Sara, it's really pretty" etc I don't think intros are overthought.

The Bob Dylan thing imo is so overdramatic, there was nothing wrong with what he said.

It just rubbed me the wrong way. This whole interview with her rubbed me the wrong way, probably why I'm being more picky than I would be.
