Use that song for comfort and to help heal that fake outrage.

Sorry, I forgot what I was doing for a second and engaged. When you all go low now, we go high. My bad, I forgot.

Yeah well that slogan worked well didn't it? And looking at all the protesting, you guys go lower.

With all due respect, I disagree.

Trump may fix the economy but he has given the racists and bigots in this country the courage they needed to come out of the shadows. Just today, in NC, I was walking with my wife (a Korean) and our 2 month old child (obviously interracial) and I had a man tell me to take my wife back to China. Needless to say, I clocked him in the face. So yes, that is the America I now live in.

I created this thread so that we can discuss Stevie's albums and their chart success.

Please don't go too far off topic and start arguing.

I am sorry you and your family had to endure such hatred and bigotry

Yes I guess my comment hijacked this thread. Sorry.

As far charts are concerned, I hope that somehow Bella Donna gets certified 5x platinum.

I cleared a bunch. Is there anyway to clear messages without having to open each up individually?

Yes, there's a little square near to each message, you tick on the square of the messages you want to delete and then choose "delete" from the bar at the bottom of your message folder:

Back on topic. The debate is/was how her older music is still tearing up the charts. Regardless of generation, her "older music" with Lindsey (and the Mac) is far superior and less forgetful than the "new stuff." I recall going to concerts where she played mostly the "hits" and the crowd loved it. You won't see that at a current Stevie concert when she starts playing from the 24K vault or IYD. IN fact, her best receptions are from BD/WH and her "greatest hits" collections. All the other songs are "beer runs."

Seems to me that the greatest generation of Stevie was from 1976-2001 , ending with TISL. The then10 year hiatus really did NOT get her collective juices flowing and Dave S is certainly not her muse. I'd have to give that to Lindsey. The magic happens with Lindsey, you know it, I know it, we all know it.

Speculating here, BUT I'd imagine that IYD and 24K would have been a LOT more successful if she had a Ken C, Lindsey B or ANYONE else as her producer. She just has too much chemistry with Lindsey to not be successful. Its akin to the vault songs. When you take a classic car out of storage after 30 years, you don't take it to the local body shop and get it restored. You take it to a classic car restorer who knows how and what to do with the songs from the vault. The only person capable of that was Lindsey.

I disagree, if the magic was only with Lindsey then why the most forgetful music she has done is Extended Play?

Hey, NOT saying that everything she did with him was magic. That was primarily a Mitch Froom project anyway. You don't like Sad Angel or without you?? Mitch is more of a Movie music producer anyway.

Well, I was not saying that she doesn't have a special work relationship with Lindsey either, I prefer her work with the Mac too but I think mainly the fault is age that made her a bit less "elastic"
No, I like Without You, and Sad Angel is cute just like Miss Fantasy etc but it's all pretty much underwhelming, I don't know it just all sound the same to me at some level.

I disagree with this. Well, I maybe I don't technically disagree, but what you have described is in no way unique to Stevie. You could be describing any classic rock artist still out there today. Her hit-making days were long ago, but that doesn't necessarily mean the music she makes now isn't good. Of course thousands of casual fans will want to hear the hits, and I don't doubt people make a beer run during an IYD song, but again....bigger names than her experience the same thing. And Lindsey wouldn't be able to spare her from this. If Fleetwood Mac trots out any SYW songs on their next tour, the same thing will happen.

They are bringing in about a million per show. How much do think Stevie nets a night?
