John McVie can sing all of Stevie's parts just as good if not better than she can. Imagine how beautiful a rendition of landslide with Lindsey on guitar and John singing would be. And songs like Silver Springs with John up front at Stevie's mic and staring at Lindsey as he sings. It has the potential to be really good.

you are funny!

and also completely missing the point. Don't Stop was the only Chris song FM did in her absence, and only because that song has completely transcended way beyond Fleetwood Mac. my teenage son asked me after seeing FM live in 2013 why did they chose to cover that song - that's how much in a collective fabric and dissociated from the band that song is. that was the only song he knew (other than GYOW which was on Guitar Hero or one of those games).

however huge Dixie Chicks and others who covered it made Landslide, it did not reach the status of Don't Stop.

there's no need to do any Stevie songs during FM 4/5 gigs, she had many fewer hits than Chris, and they still did only Don't Stop.

you are building a very nice argument for why they should not wait for her - after decades of putting up with it now they are getting to be so old that the time is to break off this bad habit of letting her putting FM on back burner to the point of scarcely having any albums out. if they want their legacy to be artistic in their last years and not just a touring oldie cash machine, it's time to actually do something artistic.

that said, you are probably right and they will wait for her... out of procrastination or misplaced greed probably.

The last thing Stevie wants is for them to release an album and do a tour without her. What if they find being a quartet is more creatively rewarding, is more enjoyable, and is still viable enough to justify doing without her? Maybe going "medium machine," as Lindsey might say, might prove to be more enticing as a long term option. Maybe they would take a "life's too short" attitude regarding Stevie and doing another massive cash-grab tour. I think that's unlikely, but Stevie choosing to be absent potentially opens up Pandora's box.

Well, I guess she doesn't lose sleep over that, since she knows they love money and that's not likely to change any time soon.

Not to mention their managers and agents would be screaming. It's not just them they have to worry about.

Further proof - Tango in the Night. It's Fleetwood Mac's 2nd biggest selling album around the world. It sold 11 million copies. and only 3 million were inside the states. The weakest charting single, Seven Wonders, coming from Nicks.
I like Behind the Mask so much more than Say You Will, but that's subjective.

The weakest charting single from Tango was not Seven Wonders, which peaked at #19, but Lindsey's Family Man, which hit #82, I think.

hard to discern the tone sometimes, especially since some others have raised the same argument very seriously lol.

I don't know what was said but 'trifling bitches" just as a phrase by itself is kind of hysterical.

Christine is just the bomb. F'in A though, I picked up some maracas a few weeks for my sister for her birthday and they hard to play! I shook the bejeepers out of them in the thrift store I was in and it's not my instrument lol. It was a gag gift though, she got something cool too.

Family Man was the 5th single released nearly a year after the album had been. Lindsey's Big Love and Chris's Little Lies which bookended Seven Wonders were both top 5 hits.In that context Seven Wonders' position was a poor showing although IMHO the song is very good.
