Default MCI Center Advice

Who all is going to this show? I am planning on going now (especially after that totally awesome show in Philly last night), but I still need to buy a ticket.

For those of you who know the D.C. area, can you suggest a reasonably priced hotel/motel along the metro red line in from the shady grove station? Somewhere sorta close to the metro station, because I think I will be making this trip by myself, and this country girl gets a bit nervous traveling in the big city alone.

Thanks!

Default i'm ready for Thursday night!

If you are looking for a hotel on the red line, try Bethesda. I do know that there is a Residence Inn right at the Bethesda Metro station - but don't know how much it is. D.C. is an expensive city, and a lot of the decent hotels can be quite pricey. Sometimes they do have special rates. Try a Yahoo search for D.C. Hotels. I think it allows you to tailor your search.. look for metro stop hotels.

I can guarantee that most hotels in downtown D.C. will be at least a $100 a night.

about ticketmaster and the releasing of tickets..

Earlier this morning, ticketmaster had Section 112, Row b seats available - which are EXCELLENT seats. Those seats would be about stage level, just down and to the right of Lindsey. Not bad at all.

I'm in section 121 (Stevie's side), which are also great, but I have been looking for something much closer.. only if i'm in the first 5 rows! .I had 10th row last time the Mac were at MCI, and I had to view the concert between the head of the fans in front of me.. I would have rather been in the 100 section..I guess I've become an old soul..

About 15 minutes ago, ticketmaster did have floor seats - section 2, row y. about 25 rows back.. too far for me..I would wait and see if better ones show up.

ahh.. its all a crapshoot.. but good luck to everyone trying to score great seats. I swear they hold these close seats, so us fans will end up purchasing more than one seat.. I already have 2 tickets!! :-)

also, I have been to the MCI the day of a show to get tickets, and sometimes they only take cash. It all depends on the event. So, if you can, bring cash. And the tickets also tend to be a little more $$ the day of the concert. Good luck.

Default and one more thing..

the last time FM played here in May, cameras were allowed. They had signs posted that you could bring cameras in. I may check the day of the show to see if that is there policy for this event, too.

Hi Mad4Stevie, I wouldn’t recommend walking to the RRI from the station. It’s not the best area of town. I stayed at this RRI last week for $56.99 per night. (expedia.com) It’s not a bad place to stay for the price. From the train schedule Im looking at The Shady Grove Station is 4 minutes from MCI, and only requires boarding that Red Line Train. The Red Line terminates at Shady Grove Station. Hotels in DC are going to be expensive, and this RRI is very easy to get to from MCI. Good Luck. Check your PM's...........Mark
