Being someone's fan doesn't mean you have to kiss-a$$ and never critique them.
No, it doesn't. But supporting her decision not to be in the studio with FM right now while still being a part of the band does not mean some of us are kissing a$$.
You say she's dreaming. I say I want her to try and do things the way she envisions them.

To be clear, I wasn't saying you or anyone else was kissing a$$. I was just saying that the judgement of others shouldn't be that if they aren't kissing her a$$ they are being mean or haters or not true fans.

As I said, I support whatever she wants to be doing. But she ought to be less ambiguous about whether she wants to continue to be in FM or not because if not, they deserve to make the album they want to make without her on it.

Some people are so predictable and baitable. The response here was just as I expected. I am sure they think it is funny...I just find it juvenile. Bye bye Ledge. I wish you were what you used to be. I no longer desire to be part of this crap.

I created this thread as a way of creating some positivity as there seems to be an overwhelming amount of negativity surrounding the recent news that Stevie doesn't seem too keen on committing to a new Mac album any time soon.

This thread is for speculation on Stevie's SOLO CAREER so please don't bring all of that rubbish over here.

It was created in order to voice some positive views on what I thought Stevie might have been getting up to. If the negative comments continue then I will close it.

Negativity doesn't get you anywhere.

Unlike FM itself, the people who want new music aren't concerned with "what their audience looks like". They are concerned with creativity and a legacy that's not completely stuck in the past. So, saying that the band will fade into the sunset with no fanfare or goodbye without Stevie is hardly damning the world to misery and blight.

I loved seeing Christine back with the band for the last tour and if that was my goodbye to the five of them together, I can live with it. They were on the top of of the box office. That's all the "fanfare" they need. Now, I'd like an album. I've wanted it for years and if Stevie is not on it and it doesn't sell (which I don't expect it to), it won't be cause for despair.

Stevie's fans would welcome a tour or a second installment of 24K or, most of all, new solo music. That's great. Her pursuing her solo interests is hardly punishment for the people who criticize her. The attitude of, "If you keep complaining about Stevie, I hope you get what you've been asking for and she leaves the band and then you'll be sorry" is amusing.

As for blame, I don't blame Stevie. I blame the other four for not moving on. I'm disappointed in them.

Michele

@lulu28, how do I Thank this very informative and logical post above ^ ^ ^ ?? Kudos!!

If I were her and had her bank, I'd be sitting on the beach in Kauai or where ever she goes, sipping on a latte in morning and martini at night.................

I can only hope she's getting ready to write that long awaited book. She's still young enough to actually do a book tour and be all over the place promoting it. She's been talking about it since the 80's. I really don't want her to be so old that if/when it comes out she's not in a place where she could enjoy the reception. Not looking for the gossip about her life, just her view on her experiences, her own insecurities, her own demons, her own dreams, her perspective on life and loss. We've all experienced this through her 3-5 minute abstract songs which i LOVE, ZERO COMPLAINTS. She has just been such an inspiration through her music. I would love to hear about the real Stevie Nicks from the legend herself.

What has Stevie been doing? Only her circle knows. She's had knee, hip and back problems during the last couple of years. Maybe she's getting things treated. She has said in the past it was difficult to make doctor and dental appointments when touring. Anyone's guess is as good as another. I did see her guitarist, Waddy, is touring with Joe Walsh. It seems like The Lion King, the circle of life. So sad hearing about the loss of Glenn Frey, gone at just 67. Time makes you bolder, children get older and Stevie's getting older too. The rest of the band should push on and if she wants to join, great. But as others have said, we really don't know what is going on in their lives. I'm thrilled Christine is back. I would love to see a new album with all of them on board. I hope they get the opportunity to do it. The scare with John McVie certainly made us aware how precious time is. Maybe it helped bring Christine back. Maybe it pulled Stevie away. Maybe she has other things she needs to take care of. Maybe it includes just living, so she can get creative. Cranking out lyrics like we saw with "Cheaper Than Free" was not Stevie Nicks. I hope she takes the time to breath something into her music. Christine had many years to live and - what? contemplate the universe- during her time away. Stevie has not ever stopped touring long enough between her solo and FM time to just live. She's been supporting a lot of people--family and friends. When she's ready, I think we'll hear from her.

One thing she's been doing is laying down vocals for Sheryl Crow's new album which will be out next year. I love it when those two collab.

I'm not Shery Crow's biggest fan but I was so happy with Stevie's collaboration with Charles Kelley that I can't help but be excited about this one too.
