I was just wondering when they played Say You Love Me in 2009 if Stevie said anything to introduce the song. I can't seem to find any videos on YouTube that show this.

Dropped key, and Steve E. doesn't even know the verse. Lindsey sounds far better than she.

HORRIBLE. If they weren't embarrASSed, they should be.

I like it...a little under-rehearsed, maybe.
But it has a country feel to it...a bit Dolly and Kenny. B and N style. |

Thank you, but I have already seen this. I was curious if Stevie gave one of her little speeches before the song and said anything about Christine or why they were playing her song. |

It's so nasal I couldn't get through it.

There was no speech, they just went right into the song. She did a speech before "Storms," which was the previous song in the set.

I like it...a different spin on the song is always welcome in my book and I think Stevie sounds pretty good despite forgetting a couple of the words. She and Lindsey did it justice.

Just like Lance Ito did for O.J. Simpson.

Put me in the camp that does not care for this live version. Both sing it passionless and Stevie is ackward flubbing lines.
They should have done a clever twist on the song... taking it to where it never was before. Can you imagine a hard rock version of the song? That would have been so cool. Just mix it up. Instead we got this ackward version. Nice try but epic fail

Haha, they should have just left it alone! Christine songs should be left to her. If they were gonna do a Christine song they should have done one better suited for Stevie, like Over & Over

It does sound awful when I view it on Youtube and elsewhere. But I remember that 2009 tour. And I remember really finding their performance of the song to be quite charming. It was one of the highlights of the show (for me). Maybe I was drunk? I couldn't have been THAT drunk, because I remember being annoyed that they played Don't Stop without Christine. THAT sounded awful, perhaps more awful than BN's duet of Say You Love Me.

I remember attending my first FM concert and not knowing what to expect, as most of the youtube videos sounded awful.
Thankfully they sound at least 100X better live, I was quite astounded by the difference. ![]() |
