Just listening to the songs, I thought HSML was about Mick ("they say you're not the man for me" doesn't fit LB as well imo) and, yeah, Nothing Ever Changes was Lindsey. But so many options.
"You Could Be The One" also about LB I'd have to think. |

Kind of Woman - Lindsey
HSML - I think it's about Mick and Lindsey actually... Like how Stevie's choice affected her relationship with Lindsey Outside the Rain - I would say Jimmy Iovine, but to me this song is so much more than about one person, so I'm not too sure. Nothing Ever Changes - Definitely Lindsey Beauty and the Beast - Mick 1000% Priest of Nothing/HAEWAFY - Joe Walsh Just to name a few

For JD Souther, he was supposedly the guy "undoing the laces" in Sara.

I thought If Anyone Falls was about Waddy? Doesn't it say something like that in the Timespace liner notes?

Yes, she said that she and Waddy were talking and they said something like, "if anyone falls in love, it will be one of us. At least I hope so." And she indicated that it wasn't necessarily romantic, just old friends commiserating about their love lives.

Stevie on IAF
"This is the first song that I wrote with Sandy. I've probably prayed for so many years that I'd find somebody I could write songs with, and I finally found her. She lives in Houston, and she's totally crazy. She's a real brilliant musician and what she does for me is she writes a song, goes in with a band and records it, sends me the track. Track sounds great. I go in my bathroom, put it on my stereo, plug in my other tape recorder, sing along, record it right there. I play it for everybody the next day, everybody goes crazy, and that's it. It's over." [OK . This liner note sounds less platonic than the quote I was trying to find of hers about Waddy] Quote:
"I wrote this song about Mr. Waddy Wachtel, who I have always felt was the twin that we all have somewhere. It is to my great sorrow that he is no longer with me, but it is to my great joy that I had him as long as I did, some people are simply irreplaceable." |

^Stevester, could you try not to make it sound like Waddy died?

I don't know if they were together back in 1991. Remember Annie had that daughter Shannon, before she met Waddy and Shannon was still a little girl around the time of Waddy's Q & A here in 2001. So, I can only guess he got together with Annie in the mid-nineties.
