I'm sure Stevie will bring her A game to this project, but I feel that she creates her best stuff in collaboration, as she did with Lindsey for years.

Christine was into co writing, so I don't see why Stevie can't collab with someone she can bounce ideas off of, like say Adele, and come up with something that ups their game.

not saying she should work necessarily with Adele, just pointing out what Adele does on her records.

That would be interesting and a good reality show for once to watch.

I'm not sure anything is happening or will happen because no official news or timeline have been offered. And as I keep saying, we're entitled to an official timeline because the band sold the prospect of a new Mac album BEFORE the last tour. Two years ago they said the new music was coming. I'm tired of waiting and I have no trust in Stevie bringing anything substantial to the table....and if she does will this be in the next year? Two years? Twelve? Geesh. So upset with the band bull....

I think you are right in the fact that Stevie would absolutely co-write any new Mac tunes before she brings them to the band. However, I can almost guarantee you that she would chose Dave Stewart since that is her comfort zone.

I'm inclined to agree. Even if Stevie were to be co-writing songs with Dave Stewart to prepare for the album, word would get out. More than 6 months have passed since the Mac tour wrapped, and that still hasn't happened. It's beginning to look like the new Mac album is indeed dead in the water.

I think the Mac and its members should of kept their mouths shut and kept quiet about any new album when Christine came back with them.Instead they keep running their mouths on social media and TV to get their fans wild up and pissed off about it and waiting for it to drop.Thats unfair game as I see it.It reminds me of politics.Say promises and dont deliver.Alter the thing is recorded and done with then they should have a press release or conference. Not dwelling on saying we will record an new album for the past whatever years.

No, I think they ran their mouths on social media as you put it to create a groundswell of expectation to put pressure on Stevie to get onboard with an album.

I love Mama but she's the one holding it all up, NOT the rest of the band.

I get that she might feel like needing a break after a massive world tour, a tour that she/they didn't initially expect to be doing and wouldn't have done if Chris hadn't asked to come back. But there's no clear sign there is any new material being created by her or culling thru the vault for material for hte album or whatever.

Mick and Lindsey used the media to pressure her previously, but it clearly has failed this time, and sadly, may even be causing her to dig in even harder.

why?

they shouldn't be talking about it to spare few fans some anxiety? it's not like we wouldn't be still complaining why are they not putting out any new music if they didn't talk about the possibility!

the only difference: we wouldn't know Stevie is the main roadblock.

most Mac members want that new album even more than we do. talking about it was their way to try to arm-twist band member who was reluctant. it worked before. it is possible it will work again, although on much slower timescale than anyone would want. maybe we will get that "new" album eventually.........

Yea I understand what you are saying .The reason why it would be a good idea if they were hush about it and it would keep the worry wart fans off their backs everytime they pop up at events. It must be a pain in the neck for them when fans keep asking them over and over again when the new album will be released.

I was so excited in April 2014 to read about four band members being in a studio in Los Angeles. I even remember reading that Lindsey and Christine had signed off on some songs.

Now it really annoys me how the band members are so blaze about the new album. It's all right for Christine to throw around release dates that never eventuate. She has heard all the new songs. Obviously she has heard her own songs but she has also been lucky enough to hear all of Lindsey's new tracks. I'm sure Stevie, the person preventing the new music from being released, has also heard or at least receive an offer to listen to the new songs.

This is getting ridiculous. They have spent so much money and so much time and effort has gone into crafting songs for a new record, but the current situation is that the songs will sit on the shelf never to be released. If we're lucky, two or three years down the track, Lindsey and Christine will each release solo albums at age 70 and age 76. I honestly think that's the best we can realistically hope for.

The mooted 2017-2018 world tour will be another Greatest Hits Show. If we are really lucky and I mean incredibly lucky, in the 2017-2018 shows they will play two new songs, like they did in 2013 (Sad Angel and Without You). If pigs fly, there will be three new songs, including one from Stevie.

I'm not holding my breath anymore. If you do that with this band, you suffocate and die.
