Stevie was pretty vocal about her complaints in that interview for the British press at the end of the American leg of ON WITH THE SHOW. She seemed pretty much over all-things Mac before they even hit Europe.

Yeah, we’re planning to go out a little later than I would have liked. I think we’re going to have to work on young Stevie. But we’re going, we’re planning to be on the road in October of ’17. We need that to be a little sooner. Uh, I think it’s crazy touring in the winter… Well, we normally go all over the world, y’know, and I think that will - in our mind - be the last tour. It will be a massive commitment that will last about two years on and off like the Stones when they go out. And I think the girls will have had enough. Although, Christine, who re-joined Fleetwood Mac, and she’s an elder stateswoman - I won’t mention how old but she’s like a spring chicken. She phones me every week now and goes like, “We’re going back out, right?”

This is soooooooooo annoying! First Christine says April 2016 is when the band will likely get in the studio to finish the upcoming album. Then a ledgie in the know says May 2016 is when the band returns to the studio. Now we learn from Mick that the tour to support this album wouldn't start until October 2017?! Does this mean the next record won't come out until mid-2017? Good god. I was just beginning to feel hopeful that it would be released in time for THIS Christmas season. I am so tired of these people!!!! Come on already! Christine is keen. She expressed interest in doing a solo album BEFORE she rejoined the band. That would've been out by now. I'm so friggin' pissed.

Christine during the 1998-2013 period was not a member of the group. They were therefore able to go ahead and do Say You Will when they did with all then current members committed.

Stevie has not officially left the group. What I am saying is she should either do so or stop procrastinating and lay her tracks down (once Mick's back from Australia that is).

thanks for sharing, Nicole. sorry you didn't get to ask your question, and can't believe nobody asked about the album!! hopefully one of the remaining m&gs someone will, and we get to hear about what the response is.

from all this, i can see as the best case scenario (taking into account people we are dealing with and their [no] sense of time):
  • they may all go into studio apr-may 2016 to finish the album - with Stevie (yes? no? that's the question someone should ask - whether they are really going into studio to finish the album in the next few months, like Chris said, and if they are, is Stevie going to be there too, or they still don't have her commitment).
  • they'll put that album out fall of 2017 the earliest
  • they'll tour one last massive, 2-years long tour starting probably spring 2018 (because in these people math that will be close enough to 50 years of rumours and Stevie doesn't want to tour with FM before fall 2017 which takes them for a winter tour start and will probably not happen)

Not necessarily. TITN came out on April 13 and the tour didn't start until September 30, five and a half months later.

Got a point there .Give her a break.I'm just wondering if the internet was up to full swing in when Chris left the band .The fan would had a chance to express their feelings about her.

Again .At this point .So what if they finish the album or not.I cant afford to loose any sleep over it.

My heart sinks at the prospect of yet another massive world tour. These tours really just take them away from recording and creating for, like, years. A big tour means no new stuff from anybody, possibly ever. I hope they make one final album before that tour. But if they do, that is likely to be it.

Not when she LEFT altogether. She made it very clear that she was done, and gracefully gave the band her blessing to continue on without her. She didn't stifle the band.

However, I made a similar comment in 1995, when she had as many songs as Billy, Dave, and Mick COMBINED on the "Time" album, but wouldn't tour. You're either in the band or you're not.

She chose to do that and got paid accordingly. However, age and illness make this likely the last chapter in Fleetwood Mac's history, and time is of the essence. It's just the reality.

I would really love another Christine solo album. If she went on a solo tour, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Christine retired from touring in 1990, and made it clear with her lyrics on "Time" in 1995 that she was done. I looked at "The Dance" as an added bonus, like it was her way of going out on top. I doubt that anyone paying attention at the time was surprised that it was Christine who put a lid on that tour.

Can't blame Stevie for FM's lack of studio output...The blame rests squarely on Mick Fleetwood's shoulders ( and possibly the others if it's a group decision )
When you manage a company (yes FM is a company) and you have one employee (band member) disrupting or preventing the other team members from doing their jobs you try and fix the problem and if you can't fix the problem you REMOVE the problem (team member) so the others can be productive again.

If Stevie no longer want's to deal with LB in a studio setting that's her choice. It's also the bands choice to keep recording projects on the back burner year after year all the while hoping she will change her mind.
And why has Mick not fixed the problem? Because it seems he (and the others) would rather maximize the bands touring revenue instead of their creativity.

The band made a record without LB. They also made a record without LB & SN. And they also made a record without CM. So why not one with LB & CM without Stevie?
And is Stevie to blame for the fact that FM's studio output over the last 40 years barely compares to the first 7 years of FM before Stevie & Lindsey were hired.

Does Mick really think FM will be touring in 2020? He said the tour would start in the fall of 2017 and continue for 2 years (and if more dates are added possibly longer) It will be a miracle if FM reaches the end of the next tour (late 2019) without one of them having a health issue serious enough to impact the tour.

I think the others are right and at this stage of the game they need to be realistic with their expectations (times running short) and not try and plan what they will be doing at the end of 2019. By then Stevie will be 71 and Christine will be 76.

I adore Stevie but this is just bulls%t.

Put a wrap on FM and then do whatever the eff you want til in your solo work til you drop.

Enough already.

I would bet money that the managers and accountants and all that are pushing for touring over recording because "that's where the money is".

you know, since there was no social media in the 70s and 80s, it's hard to know. maybe she is.

think of it in the light of all the new info we've been getting in the last few years (since 2009 really) on how Stevie is holding up their latest album for 7 years now already. and still, so many of the long time FM fans are saying it's just how FM is, they take a long time to record, LB is to blame for taking too long with the production etc - when it's so obviously Stevie holding it up. we cannot really discount she was to blame in the earlier years too (solo carrier coming first?), it just never floated on the surface since we didn't have the access to all the info we have now. the only info we had was their promotional interviews.

now about your point that Mick can put an end to it but he / managers want money that's in touring of the whole band over new creativity, that might be easily true. but also, we don't know their contracts. maybe Stevie has contractual power to prevent them from putting out an album without her and it would be a long protracted legal battle if they tried? who knows, hard to tell. there are so many possibilities and so much we don't know.
