Could be right they are assuming an equal share, I have no way of knowing. But they shouldn't misrepresent things like that. Because they had both of them earning more income than Beyonce, who is supposed to be so powerful. Safe to say, they both did very well.
Even though I am primarily a Nicks fan (I listen to rock more than easy listening) I do respect Christine and think her contribution is just as valuable. She was the only reason why I bought a ticket last year. I don't go to concerts often it's a long way to travel. I didn't want to see the same show as 2004. But when I heard it was going to be all five, I wanted to go. When I got there I thought the crowd was a lot bigger than it was in 2004. In fact the scale of everything in general seemed bigger and it was a real buzz. Some of my favorite and most memorable moments of the concert were Christine and she really gave a lot of energy all evening, which seemed to have also rejuvenated the others. It was great to see her come out from behind the keyboard to the front. I was in the front rows and thought she looked more like in her 40s. In my opinion, she deserves an equal share. I've heard the Rolling Stones have very unequal payments. Despite being a very long term member, Bill Wyman said he was making more from his restaurant after he quit. But getting off track... |

Yes, that article was about women in the music business who make a lot of money. Fleetwood Mac was a top earner last year, and there are two women in it, hence the women made a lot of money. I don't think it was an exact ranking.

Mick indicated that he heard Lindsey and Christine talking on the phone and wondered if Christine could really do something on the SYW album. So, I wondered about that phone call. But I don't think they specified who said she can't record and not tour. Michele |

Thanks! That is what I remember, I just didn't remember it correctly.

But, you're right it's her life and she's done well with her career. I just wish she would explore her FM magic again rather than put out what I call crap. Her singing at the piano is god awful in my opinion. Her FM stuff is stellar in comparison.

agreed, but Forbes gave them some sort of ranking, and the original poster's point was that the article rated Stevie and Christine at the same rank (regardless of what that ranking was) -- implying they made the same money off the tour. We're simply saying it seems highly unlikely they made the same money. I don't think anyone is disputing whatever amount it was, it was a lot.

Of course I could be completely wrong, and maybe Forbes has more inside info than I'm imagining. |

This seems backwards to me.
Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are the founders of FM.By right they should earn their part better then anybody else. I cant picture Mick and John making 15 percent each.

I still haven't seen any evidence that they don't split evenly between the five of them.
Last I read (Mick's first book), they're equal partners in the band.

And she should STOP "playing" piano for the interviews. My Grandma plays better piano than Stevie...and she's been dead for years! It's truly embarrassing when she bangs out those F and G chords. Makes me wonder if "she" thinks she's good...ego and all taken into account...

Yes, I absolutely love Stevie but why she feels the need to attempt to play the piano I'll never know....

It would be awful.Me too, but I sometimes wonder if there's really any magic left there. It wasn't on Say You Will (the songs were good, but they didn't really sound like Fleetwood Mac, in the way that Dreams or Gypsy or Sara sounded like Fleetwood Mac). Thank goodness Lady was the only piano track on 24 Karat Gold, and it wasn't Stevie playing it. Maybe you don't have the album, but it wasn't a compilation of demos.

That's been the case since TITN. Fleetwood Mac clearly became secondary for Stevie after "Mirage," and the proof can be heard on TITN, BTM, and SYW. I'd argue that she got out of those albums what she put in.

Well that would be fair enough. The 'Glimmer Twins' write all the songs so its only fair they get the bulk of the cash. I think Wyman barely wrote anything in the Stones. I think the suggestion he didnt make much might be a bit of an exaggeration. One who I think was a bit hard done by was Rick Wright in Pink Floyd. He was made a salaried player after The Wall despite being an original member and significant songwriter. |
