James we need you! Gary Hoppy says he is 100% sure buckingham Nicks charted around us #140 in 70s. He says he checked in the mid 80s to see BN has sold 490,000 copies. Did this album ever chart?

It's hard to find info for this album but I have found that it charted on the catalogue charts in 1983. It's run as follows: 48-48-48-48-43-43 (6 wks)
Re 01: 17/12/1983: 43-43-43-43-*28*-28-28-28-46-46-46-46-41-41-41-41 (16 wks). I don't think it charted on the Billboard 200 but I'm not 100% sure, I just can't find the info. Anyway, I hope that helps! ![]() |

I found it somewhere on the following website: http://www.ukmix.org. Unfortunately, I made a note of it a while ago so good luck finding it now!
I can only guess but I would say it's probably sold around 250-300k. |

I bet that if the Buckingham Nicks album was dusted off, given a fresh mix and repackaged with extensive liner notes and possibly outtakes, it would do fairly well on the charts.
I just don't understand why they seem so apathetic and sluggish about it. They are quite aware of its lauded underground status. You think it would be something they would have considered re-releasing to fill in the long spans of time and dormancy between albums. There would be no need to tour behind it. But on several nostalgia tours Fleetwood Mac has done as a means to stay relevant( i.e. make money) they could have featured a few of those songs to freshen up the set with something "new." "Without You" was the closest thing to that idea, but it was somewhat of a half-hearted attempt.

Buckingham Nicks is very unique in the sense that many people know its existence but have never thought to actually get their hands on it. If it were to be released now it would have a different commercial response to say a new FM or Stevie album because it has been a legend for over 40 years.
In my opinion, it would do extremely well commercially but I think in the dire state of the music business where sales are dismal and streaming is coming in, all that matters is the fact that people can hear the very beginnings of the talent that we've been witnessing for the past 40 years. |

They have been saying for YEARS how the album was going to be released on CD. Stevie just wanted it out and Lindsey wanted to add some other songs to make it special and worth the effort. Will this ever be released on CD? Who knows but after hearing this for 15 years it would be surprising IMHO.
What I don't understand is why this did not happen when Chris left the band for over 15 years. They could have added Frozen Love and other classics into the live Mac show and got away with it. I know someone will post they did Don't let me down again once or twice live but I am talking Crystal, Frozen Love, Don't let me down again, Crying in the night, etc.

Gary said it's Mick holding back the release because it's not under his name and he won't make any profit for it.
