The show was AMAZING. Other people will post reviews soon enough, but I wanted to get the (truly awesome) set list posted...
Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind Steal Your Heart Away Big Love (1X) Go Insane Trouble Peacekeeper (2.5X) Red Rover Never Going Back Again* Say Goodbye* Murrow Go Your Own Way I Am Waiting Down on Rodeo Bleed to Love Her Save Me a Place Stevie was on NGBA and Say Goodbye. He played all of the songs twice for us except Big Love (one time) and Peacekeeper (two and a half times- hilarious technical glitch). Bleed to Love Her and Save Me a Place were requests at the end that he did for fun. Best part- I screamed "Frozen Love" at S&L in a silent moment, and Stevie sang the first two lines of the song a capella, then said that those were the only lyrics she could remember.... Lindsey then made a comment about how beautiful/great the two-part harmony on that song was. It was SO cool. Look forward to other people's reviews. |

It's actually a Rolling Stones cover... it's on Aftermath... Lindsey's version was beautiful. It was SUCH a great show. I don't think any of us could believe our ears some of the stuff he was playing... as for Red Rover... he'd actually said that they might have to play it three times instead of two, but they didn't... probably because it was SO good the first two times. It sounded AMAZING! |

By the way, was any mention made of when this might air? The wait may kill me, since not being able to go already staggered me.

There was an awkward moment where the stage manager wanted him to be powdered cuz he was too shiny!-hahaha- and there was this totally mortifying moment for Lindsey where he was being powdered by the makeup girl on stage... he looked so embarassed and sheepish. Another great part was seeing him do "Save Me a Place"- it was great to see him cut loose and be so spontaneous... he and Neale kept trying to figure out what key to do it in, and it was great to see him just pick it up and go with it after someone in the audience asked him for it. My other favorite part was during Peacekeeper #1- something happened with Neale's guitar, and they stopped the song halfway through. Lindsey started to walk over to Neale, and just said really loudly- "WHA HAPPENED?"- Luke and I started to laugh so hard- I guess Lindsey shares a fondness for "A Mighty Wind" with us. Oh, Les- I forgot you were a J.Buckley fan. Have you picked up Columbia's new expanded Live at Sine? It has some amazing stuff on it. -Hayley :-) Edit: Oh- they didn't mention at all when it would air. Which was annoying. Hope it's in November, during the November pledge drive! |

Thanks for the details! Your post reminds me of one other question I've been so curious about -- who was on stage with him (besides Neale)?

Wow, that's an absolutely amazing set-list!
I'd be glued to the TV even if it were just for "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind" and "Murrow" alone. Though I have to admit that I was hoping he and Stevie would at least do their acoustic version of "Gypsy"... but I think it's really impressive that the two of them are at a place where she can come out and be his "special guest," just singing harmony vocals. Very laudable. ![]() Can't wait to see this!

Thanks for the list, and for doing your part to bring back FL. Apparently we know the songs better than they do. (Was there ever any doubt?) I only wish there were BN songs. We've already heard those two songs with Stevie this year. I would have loved Crystal and Without a Leg to Stand On.
What did Murrow sound like? Did it have a big sound like on the album or was it done with more of an acoustic sound? - Jake

It was taped for public television's "Soundstage" series. If your local public television station shows this series, you should get to see it. I guess we just have to wait to see how long it takes before this hits the air. I gather the lag time between tapings and actual airings can vary quite a bit sometimes. I hope it's not going to be in the too distant future!

Sorry, yeah, it's a series that airs in the States. When it airs here though, I'm sure some kind souls will tape it for those unable to watch it themselves.
