What I think what the problem is here is with these unpopular Stevie /FM topics and 24K opinions is everyone is pissed off about the upcoming FM album. If it happens.
At this point I dont care if it happens or not.I'm not going to hold the band or its members up to it.

Its great to vent out our opinions .

IYD is great.It sounds great.

The only song I had to skip on her CD's was "Sometimes it was a Beach" at work because of the women there did not like the cursing.

I wish Stevie had held the song "24 Karat Gold" for Fleetwood Mac. It would sound so amazing with Stevie-Lindsey-Christine harmonies.

Hm, I guess I have two 'unpopular' opinions about her:

1) I think it's great that she is the one delaying/jeopardizing another FM album. That band has f..ed her over so many times (3 songs per album during their heyday, even though she was the most popular member; never missing a chance to make her feel guilty for not being present during the TITN recording; Mick and Lindsey pointing fingers at her for not wanting to go back into the studio). If it wasn't for her, the current tour (and the last two ones) would never be such a commercial success.

2) Just like her fellow band members, she has become greedy and lazy. Same predictable set lists and inflated ticket prices. I know that most acts charge outrageous amounts for concert tickets nowadays, but I still refused to go and see FM when they came to Montreal.

The same predictable sets are maddening. I understand your sentiment. It's like their mgmt have FMAC robots and programmed them to do only these songs.

Please put Beauty and the Beast back into the setlist Stevie.
I love that song.

Aren't some die-hard fans culpable in their yearnings for predictability?

"They have to open with The Chain....they have to close with Songbird....they have to play this or that song...otherwise it won't be worth it, and I'll be so pissed off... I paid "good" money to hear this and that..no one wants to hear anything unfamiliar or new....just the 40 year old "classics" everyone know. Anything unknown is opportunity for a bathroom break".

At the very least, Stevie/Fleetwood Mac could re-sequence their well-worn sets and it would seem fresh. As great as they are performing those songs, it's tiresome how they have uniformly stuck to the basic structure of their set for so long. Any slight deviation is just amazing! Granted, with three singer/songwriters, and a substantial amount of signature songs, it must be a difficult task to find a balance that meets audience expectations, while also being confident to perform new material and deep album tracks that have never made it to stage. Give some of them a new arrangement. Let Dreams get some sleep. Perform Big Love with a full band! Open with Love in Store or Blue Letter....just something less expected. (Opening with with Second Hand News was a refreshing change of pace -- nearly radical for this stone aged band).

An entertaining show is one with with inspired fresh twists, not the predictability of a church service. There are a lot of vintage bands out there who honor their past successes, but don't pander so heavily to them. There's no dispute that Fleetwood Mac's current set list is a fantastic treasure chest of songs circa 1975-1987. Yet it's as if the world stopped turning then. In consideration to a large portion of their audience -- light-weight fans who only may be familiar with the radio hits -- if you enjoy live music in general, hearing songs you don't know shouldn't be a disappointment. Why should the introductory process of discovery seem so offending? "I don't know this song, so it sucks!" Sorry to those who have such a limited, Disneyland mentality.

yeah, even on The Dance tour, they did the 3 new songs (1 from each) and had that funky little "unplugged" segment for Say You Love Me... I remember how fondly that version of SYLM was received.

I just played In Your Dreams the other day, and still take pleasure in the entirety of the album. 24 Karat Gold, in contrast, sounds so different. I love the vast distinction between the two. Uniformity has it's limits.

I'm not looking for uniformity. I'm looking for good songs with a quality voice. Glad you enjoy.

they still do that. They did it for "Without You" and "Gypsy" on the 2013 tour and are doing it for "Over My Head" on the current tour.

FWIW, when I saw her do the Sound Stage thing in Chicago about 12 years ago and got to meet her and shake her hand as she walked up to the stage , I don't know if she was "scared" to be going on the stage or was so F'D up, BUT there was a glaze in her eyes as if she didn't know what Planet of the Universe she was on?? (However, every time she comes to town I have this insatiable appetite to indulge in her again and again).

The Sheryl Crow produced songs from Practical Magic and TISL are great, and excluding Planets of the Universe, all of Trouble In Shangri La should have been produced by Sheryl.

24 Karat Gold (song) turned out well but I still prefer the demo. And I prefer the lyrics "You're like my 24 karat gold" to "You liked my...."

That's what I don't like—the cut, the design. I don't like the long sleeves (I miss her bare arms and the old danskins), I don't like the leather gloves, and I hate that ear monitor device hanging on her ample hip. I like the elegance of what she wore to her documentary premiere and to the Australian horse races. She could be a really cool clothes horse, but she dresses most of the time like a thrift-store shopper.

Oh, I also like this outfit.
