Isn't there any way we can get people to listen to 24k. It's one of the best things she has done. People need to hear it. How can we promote it?

Stevie needs to do a solo tour to promote it-which was her plan before Christine returned. I also think it's why she isn't making any commitments about the FM album yet. Most likely she wants to take a short break to rest, do at least a limited solo tour, and then record with FM. If she goes right into the FM album, they will want to go right back on the road to tour for it and she won't get another chance to promote 24K.
After following FM and Stevie all these years, I can't see Stevie missing the chance to contribute to their last album but she is going to want to take a break after three years with FM. She also wrote a lot of songs after her mom passed away and may want to record those at some point--once enough time has elapsed that she will be able to do them emotionally. When that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if that album has a very strong country influence, especially given her close relationship with Lady A and her early years singing with her grandfather. For those of you who think her creative years are in the past, I think she's going to surprise you. |

I mean this is either her best or second best album and she can't promote it? What a tragedy. Very sad...

Well, but if she were to do the Mac album and get it over with, she'd be done with them potentially forever and she could spend the rest of her life doing only what she wants with her own career. just a thought. |

Stevie planned to do a solo tour in 2015 and I still think that will happen (at least I hope it will). IMHO, that's going to be her priority as soon as this tour is over--and the band knew that when she agreed to go on tour in 2014/15.
None of that means that she's finished with FM. She and Lindsey have juggled their color projects for 30+ years. There's no reason to believe that she's leaving now, especially since Christine is back. Have some faith in the band. When everyone is ready, they will finish the album and then do a farewell tour (that may last for years). |

I think she would be all gassed out and beat.LOL by the time this tour is all done to make another round with a solo tour.I hope I'm wrong and love to see her promote 24K on the road. She probably do a quick casino /shed amp tour which would be great.
I'm all gassed out and exhausted just watching her plus the band work their a$$ off at their age.I'm resting and sleeping for her and the band.LOL......

How is taking the traditional route of trudging through yet another long tour going to help? True to form, she will perform, at most, four songs from the album and the same old same old. It's unfortunate she didn't a have a breakout hit to propel the album. There are many established artists who are not achieving the heights they achieved in past times.
If she seriously wants to promote the album, she put the focus on the songs. Pick a dozen strong markets, and perform most the album as the 24 Karat Gold Show, with just several signature old songs. Use her selfies as a visual stage backdrop. Film one intimate show (like the Dance), where she interacts with audience in a Q and A manner between songs. Have it premier on TV. Offer it for purchase online and DVD. Have the other shows recorded and offered as audio purchases. Sell affordable replications of her Polaroids. It would great if she could get one of the songs from the album on a movie soundtrack or TV show.

I submitted my application, but haven't heard back! I suspect her assistant Karen has something to do with it. I don't think we hit it off well. She has a very off-putting attitude.

Tour or no tour, I'm not sure how hard WB worked this record. Sometimes it seems that when it's the last album due on your contract (and you're not renewing for whatever reason), there's not a lot of motivation on the marketing side. While not the greatest album ever, Madonna's Hard Candy didn't seem to get a mega-push from WB when it was her last album on the label.
The first two singles on In Your Dreams charted respectably well on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart (not sure how many of those radio stations still exist), but it doesn't seem like there was a concerted radio push with 24k's four "singles" (which were delivered in rapid fire sequence to iTunes). Also the titling/packaging of 24K could well be confusing to a casual fan. 24K makes it sound like a greatest hits set, but "Songs from the Vault" makes the material sound like unpromising throwaways. Plus, using photos from the 80s on the cover adds a certain sex appeal, but doesn't make clear that these are modern-day recordings. And really, couldn't many of Stevie's albums be subtitled "Some Songs from the Vault"? For example, she listed writing years of 1974 and 1975 on songs on BellaDonna and has been dipping into the vault to varying degrees ever since. My three favorite songs on TISL were from the 70s. The lengthy promotion of IYD (and eventual release of a movie) didn't seem to do a lot to boost sales past a certain point. But Stevie doesn't need the money, so I hope she's aware that many more people have likely heard these records on YouTube than she realizes. I have cabinets stuffed with CDs, but I never buy them anymore, and I've only downloaded four full albums from iTunes in the past 3 years. I'm basically listening to my own playlists, YouTube and lots of Pandora (streaming is the future of music, they say). Given the downward trajectory of CDs and even iTunes sales, I think 24K did reasonably OK. |

if it weren't too much work. She could do like Tom Petty did rent out a theater and do a bunch of shows on Broadway make it an event

I've been a Stevie Nicks mega fan for 38 years. I listened to 24 Karat Gold for about 3 weeks, and quickly forgot about it. While I DO think it's a pretty good record, I'm NOT sure that it ranks among her best. I certainly would NOT call it her best record, not even close.
