She's not happy with the camera "Being right in her face" (like in the "IYD" doc where they go on about the camera "Being right in their faces") gives the camera guy a look and gives her head a little shake.http://youtu.be/4dSJQdDqv0s?t=1m26s

She had this opportunity to promote her new album. So what does she do? She gives us a bare-bones performance of a 33-year old Fleetwood Mac song. Is this kind of promotion doing her any commercial favors? Relying heavily on past artistic achievements seems to take precedent over establishing new ones. Fleetwood Mac is doing that now. Why not? Milking the legacy of their cash cow is easy. They need very little promotion to do that.
yep. she's been working a lot the last several years to solidify her legacy and her place in the pantheon of timeless rock icons.

She once said in an interview (late 90s I think) that she always wanted to be a beloved character in the history books.

This is what she's working towards with all this personal publicity. Otherwise, PenguinHead is right-- she could have talked a LOT more about 24k and sung one of the songs from it. She could easily have done Lady in its demo form, but she didn't.

right?

she has no issue being seen out in public with other women's husbands…..or dragging around behind Tom Petty for whole tours…..

Honestly, I think she was more embarrassed because he was a WAITER than anything else. She's STEVIE NICKS doncha know…she should be with someone equally famous and rich. Boinking is one thing, but taking him to the GRAMMYs? Are you kidding? I'm Stevie Nicks, I'm famous!!!

Unhappy

It's great to see Stevie on the cover, I love it. I'm just really disappointed in the article and Stevie. There really is next to zero new information. The funny bits are awesome, but they're just funny bits. Definitely not any insights as to her future ambitions with Fleetwood Mac. She's ok with the attention she's given from the Mac but also talks out the other side of her mouth as if it's a burden...something she just has to do (because she doesn't have the guts to just say it doesn't make her happy any more and leave, money still talks). Get real..an eight page interview that says what exactly?

It's a shame that Christine came back for all the right reasons and with ambition to make new music while Stevie is almost in the opposite direction. I don't think Christine has much to worry about in terms of being able to stay committed to Fleetwood Mac...sounds like to me she came back after 15 years for one really long greatest hits tour and that could potentially be about it. The joke is on Chris this time, sadly. How about "Stevie Nicks Looking Forward" for a change!? Everyone in this band has moved on with their lives, found some happiness and figured out how to work with each other but Stevie keeps beating the same drum from the past.

I don't mean to just single Stevie out. Hello Lindsey, you should know by now that the number one way to get under Stevie's skin is to not even recognize her brand new solo album. Give the girl a bone and say something nice. Mend some fences. You're a married man, have you learned anything? They're both nearly 70 years old and still pushing the same buttons. Unbelievable.

From this article it sounds like as much as she likes being on stage with Christine, she'll be ready to shelve Fleetwood Mac for quite a while after this tour is over. How can they even begin to make a record if they can't even talk to each other and have assistants running messages between them. It's absurd and really sad. Sorry for the rant.

This is correct. I am puzzled and frankly a bit disappointed that 24KG was not front and centre in this piece. And that she chose to growl her way through Gypsy while plunking badly on a piano rather than performing something new .... with a band, or at least, an accompanist who can actually play piano.

What does self- obsessed in a good way mean?Maybe that Stevie is obsessed with maintaining her status and not going to the wayside? Also,That was very mature of Bucky to cause a stink about her music volume just in time to interrupt her Rolling Stone interview that he is not involved withSome boys will be boys...

There’s more tension than usual in the Mac tonight, largely because Stevie agreed to be on the cover of ROLLING STONE by herself in the middle of their tour. (“I told her, ‘I’m so proud of you,’” says guitarist Waddy Wachtel, an old friend of Nicks,“and “Oh, boy, they’re going to be pissed off!) When Mick Fleetwood stops by Nicks’ dressing room to get his own makeup done, he shakes my hand, says hello and then pointedly ignores me for the rest of the night.

Mick ignored her the rest of the night...I wonder why?

Perhaps this (Rolling Stone) is in some way Stevie's response to Mick & LB's antics towards Stevie in the press since CM's return.

You nailed it baby(I say half sadly) because I thought that(even though I have posted that I don't like her personality as of late)she had more integrity as a human being than that. Also notice she says that he really cared about her and not that she cared about him or they cared about each otherIt must have been "wham bam thank you man" for her.Also.when she talked about that doctor and referred to him as Dr.___head,do you think she said d**k or s**t?

Mick ignored the journalist, not Stevie.

A case of finding drama where there is none. No doubt there is sometimes tension and irritation among the egos, but they are not emotionally thin-skinned juveniles. Dealing with Stevie's solo career is nothing new for Fleetwood Mac.

The lighting makes her look really beautiful- I wonder whether it was orchestrated by Ms Nicks herself? I can just imagine her commanding the shoot assistants in the exact placement of each and every lamp involved in order to achieve maximum prettiness, and an atmosphere that's mysterious and ever so slightly witchy, yet still inviting

On the glass coffee table are her burn cream; a water-damaged copy of an Oscar Wilde anthology she’s had for decades, filled with her old underlinings; two unlit candles; a book about Jimi Hendrix; and a bowl decorated with the lyrics of “Landslide” - a gift from the Dixie Chicks. “And he really cared about me.” But she found the situation embarrassing and tried to keep him under wraps. “One day, he came home and said, “I got two tickets for Bill Maher, will you go with me?” and I’m like, ‘Are you insane!? No, I’m not going. I’m famous! I’m Stevie Nicks! Everybody’s gonna spend the whole time taking pictures of us. And I can’t keep on making excuses about why you can’t go anywhere I can go. Like, can I take you to the Grammys? No. Can I go the market with you? No. Can we go to a movie together in downtown Santa Monica? No. All we can do is stay in.”
It's hard to read between the lines--hearing Stevie vs reading the print makes me wonder if Stevie SAID those comments to the "very nice man" or if she THOUGHT those comments, and expressed it differently. I tend to think she was saying the latter, but I'd have to ask her. Nonetheless, I'm happy that Rolling Stone still sees Stevie relevant enough to grace the cover of their magazine! Congrats Stevie!
