Yes! I totally agree. There is something to be said for spontaneity. The band missed this opportunity by not putting something out this fall. Or even the spring. But by 2016? Christine's "fresh as a daisy" comment regarding the songs will no longer be relevant, and that's kind of sad.

It's a minor and unrelated point, but I was reading the tour itinerary in elle's post and I thought, "Jesus Christ, what a joke all those corporate names are for most of those arenas!"
Nationwide Arena, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Canadian Tire Centre, Rexall Place, Sleep Train Arena, Toyota Center, Dunkin' Donuts Center, KFC Yum! Center, Quicken Loans Arena, Scottrade Center, etc. It's all about the branding, after all.

Buckingham said that he will put his own solo material on the backburner while he puts together a new Fleetwood album with Christine McVie (straight after the tour). |

Yes its going to be wonderful. I was just listening to an interview with Mick Fleetwood on the FM site and he also was talking about the new album and how it needs to be made.
I think it will be wonderful. The Mac has had odd pressure making albums for decades after Tusk. For Mirage they felt the need to be more commercial, for Tango they really embraced the 80's sound and commercial to make sure it was successful, etc. I would love to see these 5 people make an album with no pressure and let them do what they want. Say you Will is a great album but removing 5 songs and adding 5 Chris songs would have made that album sensational. I don't agree with the drama that want to write and blog about Stevie has not committed to a new album. There is no record deal yet and she was not invited to the get togethers because she was busy with her new album 24 K Gold. So just because she does not talk about the new album does not mean she would not do this album. There is NO WAY she would not do this new album after being in the Mac for all these years without Chris and even staying to make an album when Lindsey left. Lindsey is right. One more studio album would be the best way to go full circle and wrap it up. |

No mention of Stevie Nicks. |

Maybe that's why Stevie is reluctant to record with them, she doesn't want it to be over.

Yep, just rehashed (without full context or quotes) from the interview with Tavis. The relevant part of the transcript:
TS: Which leaves me to offer this as the last question. So since Fleetwood Mac’s on the big tour now - everybody knows that so get your tickets if you can get in; they’re out there now - Um, what happens after the big tour? You gonna go back to more solo stuff? LB: Uh, eventually. But, you know, one of the really exciting things that happened before we started rehearsing the show with Christine is she came over, because she said ‘Lindsey, I’ve got some rough ideas for new songs’, and we, she came over and we went in the studio - the two of us with John and Mick - and again, you ask ‘Well, is that still going to work?’ and that was my thought. Oh my god, you know, is this, am I still going to be able to do what I used to do for her or is what she’s going to bring me - She gave me a bunch of stuff to take home after we saw her in England when we played there, and I worked on it at home, took lots of liberties, came back, she loved it. We went in the studio for two months and came up with probably the best group of songs which were co-written that I think we’ve done in years, so we are going to continue working on a new album. And, uh, the solo stuff will probably take a backseat for another year or so. TS: You know what, nobody’s complaining about that. LB: No. Least of all me. TS: People would love to hear another Fleetwood Mac album. LB: Oh, I’m telling ya, beautiful way to kind of wrap up this last act, you know. TS: Well, I suspect, uh, when that happens, you and maybe somebody else will come back and see us. LB: I certainly hope so.

Oh yes, I see. That's kind of lazy journalism really (if you can call it journalism) - dragging out snippets of old news.
Anyway, 'the best group of songs that were co-written that we've done in years' (at least since ...Tango In The Night, one presumes). |

Stevie Nicks has never "put together" any FM albums. She presents her songs, records them, and lets the instrumentalists do the work with her input. When FM calls, she comes (most times), but she does not call them and say "hey we need to work on this album."

During a chat with PBS' Tavis Smiley, Buckingham spoke about the new material he's been cooking up with returning keyboardist Christine McVie, revealing, "Before we started rehearsing the show with Christine, she came over and said, ‘Lindsey, I’ve got some rough ideas for new songs. Although Lindsey Buckingham is marking his 40th anniversary of joining Fleetwood Mac, at 65, he still feels like he's at the top of his game: “A lot of the idea of (laughs) being in a rock n’ roll band and getting to be one of, sort of the people who’s been around for a while, y’know, you can manage that equation any number of ways. Y’know, it’s hard for me to sort of. . . I feel the same physically as I did 25 years ago.
