What's your favourite Fleetwood Mac studio album? Rumours is my fave album of all time by anyone, so I won't have to think too hard here! I've included a poll, but it only allows 10 options. I've tried to pick what I think are the best 10. Let me know if yours isn't here. Rich.

Ummm...NONE of them are there.
Apparently, your poll didn't show up.But, my favorite Fleetwood Mac albums are pretty much all albums prior to 1975...with a little more special emphasis on Then Play On & Mystery To Me. But, I also hold the other albums from that period in high regard, as well. EDIT: AHHHHH, there it is!

It's very close between Rumours and Tusk. I went with Tusk because of the three writers I favor Nicks, and Tusk is her best song collection.

I have no favorites. All of their albums have their own atmosphere and value. But for the sake of participating in another exercise of no consequence, I chose Tusk because of its diverse personality and nonconformity. But it's just my favorite of the moment. It will be kinda interesting to see the results.
Given how Tusk was initially met with such lukewarm reviews and confused/disappointed fans, it's very fascinating and satisfying to see how its status of artistic merit has steadily grown over several decades. It's an album that was just too ahead of its time. Often music is like fine wine; it has to age before you can fully appreciate it.

I think, over the years, I've come to feel the same way. Although, I listen to "The Dance" more often than I do the others. So maybe it's my favourite on some level...

That album one of the strongest highlights of that middle, transitional period between Kiln House and Heroes are Hard to Find. That band line up had a chemistry that gelled together. Bob Weston was a great guitarist and brought a whole new dynamic strength to the band; it's so unfortunate that he literally screwed himself out of a job.

I went with "say you will"......
I L-O-V-E Rumours and Fleetwood Mac. But I kind of prefer the grown up Mac on Say you will , sans Christine or not. |

Tango In The Night is the album that got me into the band in the first place. It's the one I played to death as a teenager and still cherish.

Tusk will always be my choice. It's my favorite incarnation of the band, and each of the 3 songwriters are at their respective heights. There's such a breadth of material and styles, but it all works together somehow. The album just has this epic, sprawling nature to it that's pretty hard to eclipse.
I think the best album is probably Mystery To Me, though. It's just flawless- every song and every sound is purposeful, and worth it's weight in gold. As much as Mystery To Me's perfection impresses me, Tusk's warts will always win over my emotions, though. ![]()

There are several albums missing from this list. Two of them--Then Play On and Kiln House--are among the band's finest.
