Tips for getting decent seats?? - Page 2

I tried to buy tickets for Southern Cal's venues right when they went on sale here and the only seats available were really terrible. After several tries for LA, San Diego and even Phoenix, I broke down and bought a VIP ticket for San Diego. I hated doing it because of the principle but after seeing the prices for platinum seats ($1500 for LA), when second row center came up, I was so ecstatic that I bought it. (Husband went "You did what?").

During last year's tour I bought 2 of Mick's VIP tickets. It was pricey, but worth it in the end. A very cool experience all around. I paid $425 each for them. This tour they are much more - $750 each! The only difference is they are throwing in a piece of "merchandise" this time and of course, Christine. (so I guess that means Christine is worth $325 plus a t-shirt?

) So I won't be doing that this time around.

I have gotten lucky ONCE and bought 2nd row tickets during a presale. I also got lucky once during a regular on sale and pulled 2 front row tickets (but that was for Stevie solo). All of the other times I've never pulled anything within the first five rows for any other shows I've been to. So I either ended up buying tickets through a broker as the prices went down, or the VIP tickets last year.

As far as waiting until the last 2 weeks or closer to score good seats, I know that happens, but last tour was different (at least when I checked). Even though I had VIP tickets, I checked periodically for ticket drops for curiousity and learning purposes. When I did this, I never saw any seats within the first 5 rows come up (at least for the San Diego show). I attributed this to Ticketmaster's Platinum seats and Mick's VIP seats taking up the bulk of them. I mean, there's only so many seats in the first 5 rows. I'm thinking it could be slim pickens this time around as well. So keep that in mind when making your ticket buying decisions.

As far as myself, I have to wait due to my finances being tied up at the moment with moving expenses. But I'm not stressed. My show, the San Diego one, isn't until December. So I have time.

Yes, last year I kept checking the San Diego show, because I can drive there, and nothing good ever came up. I must have been looking regularly for the whole month before the show. So, I ended up finding better tickets in Northern California. Even though I had to take a plane and get a hotel, it was cheaper than San Diego.

I should have gotten Mick's package for that show as soon as it was available, instead of trying to do something a few weeks ahead of the concert. Michele

Hey everybody, what do you think of waiting for the General sale? I'm afraid that there won't even be any tickets left. Is this a rational fear? I am going to post this same thing in other threads until someone calms my nerves down, thank you.

What I don't understand is why the cheap 40-60 dollar tickets are only being sold for $118.00. This doesn't make sense to me!

You should be able to get tix on the general sale. These shows are NOT sold out. Keep trying.

Is there a huge difference between being in the back half of the front floor section and the front of the middle section? I don't think I'll be rushing the stage, but is there a huge difference that makes waiting until the general onsale necessary? I've never been on the floor in an arena for one of their shows so I'm not sure what I want to buy just yet. Help?

The sound isn't any different, that's for sure. I don't need to rush the stage. My preference are seats in the lower bowl next to the stage. But I do not get those tickets. If I was buying, that's would I would be going for.

Like I mentioned in another thread I struck out on 02 Priority on Wednesday (you've no clue how heartbreaking that was, especially as I was kept in the virtual waiting room for 45 minutes...)

Luckily I somehow managed to fluke a pair for Wed 27th May 2015 yesterday through Live Nation.

Be interesting to hear how the rest of you pulled it off...

If you're talking about gigs at the O2 then O2 Priority is the best bet. I would have used them myself but I was at work when the presale started so missed out on the seats I wanted first time around. I did get in eventually but was put off by the extra fees they were asking for. That's when I opted for plan B - Livenation presale! Thanks to this forum I got another from AXS for the 22nd - happy days.

I've had rather a chequered few days... I tried I the O2 presale first on Wednesday and rejected one ticket as it was too far back for me, then immediately regretted it as I was never offered any more, apart from way way back. So I tried again in the Live Nation/Ticketmaster presale yesterday - the first 20 minutes were spent wrestling with my computer, as Live Nation insisted tickets weren't on sale yet, even though I knew they were! Then endless typing in of those horrendous and illegible 'Captcha' codes. I was never offered anything even close to what I wanted.
So I steeled myself and tried again in the general sale this morning, going through O2/AXS - about 10 minutes of tension but then I was offered a brilliant seat, Christine side 8 rows back on the 27th. Very happy, very relieved! AXS was the most straight-forward site, in my opinion.

Well, I had a planned meeting from 10 till 11 am.

At 10 am the sale for Antwerp should start, at 11am the sale for Amsterdam.

Last time, the Amsterdam show was sold out in an hour, so I had to line up the home-front to get me tickets. So I instructed my mum (wo's Chris' age) to get me tickets ...

In the meantime my meeting kinda was delayed and very short too. So at 10am I logged into the Belgian pre-sale site and scored me a ticket, went into my meeting at 10:10am and finished it at 10:55am

Logged in at the Dutch ticketmaster-site and ended up in a digital waiting line. Somehow it was a sort one and only a few minutes after 11 o' clock I had my floor-ticket for Amsterdam as well....

Meanwhile my mother was still in that waiting line.

Just (17:34h) checked though. Still plenty of decent tickets available for Amsterdam ...
