First, I hate shows like the Voice. I think the music that it showcases is vapid, lifeless, technically wonderful karaoke. So maybe I'm not a very good person to say anything about Stevie's part in it, and I only saw the snippet posted above (actually, I couldn't even watch the whole thing). Stevie is not a technically polished, wonderful singer. That's one of the things that makes her great. I don't think she has anything of value to add to them really, not because she isn't a good live performer but because she doesn't think about what they think about. Basically, she told them to do what she does. (Turn and look at each other, i.e. Buckingham / Nicks, This is your Landslide moment).

If it helps her sell records, and if she really likes doing it, then awesome, and more power to her. But I totally disagree with the idea which she has said, many times, which is that if she and Lindsey were struggling nowadays, they would be on a program like The Voice. There are tons of singer / songwriters, bands, and musicians that are struggling to get a wider audience, and they are NOT on shows like that.

OK, my rant is over. Watch on to all of you who are diggin' it

Kevin
Stevie was going to college to become a teacher. So in another life she would have been instructing the youth so this lets her get to experience that in a small regard. And we know she considers herself a mentor to some of the younger women in rock so she must enjoy sharing her wisdom.

There have been so many signs of the apocalypse lately.
I'm going to go listen to "Back to the Shack" by Weezer.
God help us.

I apologize to anyone who likes these shows. I just never thought I'd see the day...

Well let's be fair. They focus on it because the fans and the media focus on it. I mean how many Mac stories in the media reference Rumours (answer: nearly all of them).

This is a bit off topic, but forgive me.
I'm not that familiar with No Doubt or Gwen. ( I ignored a lot of popular music in the 1980s.) She's got a likable personality, and seems very sincere.
Can you elaborate about the disappointment? I need some education.

Stevie will be on 'The Voice' tonight. Do you think there'll be any mention of '24 Karat Gold'? Do you think even if there is no mention, there'll be a lot of new interest in Stevie's work?

Stevie really needs some extra promotion for the album as it's starting to drop considerably on a lot of charts already. Hopefully she'll end up performing something from the album on the show.

Well it looks like "camp Stevie" is probably done promoting via social media as her twitter was last updated 4 days ago and her instagram was last updated 18 days ago...

so how far in advance are the Voice shows taped?

did she fit in whatever # of episodes she's in all before going out on tour? seems like she must have.

I don't watch those shows, so I have no idea if the season is all in the can before the first episode airs or what

can't imagine she could do it otherwise with her schedule

I thought all of this was filmed in July, so I'm not holding my breath for any 24KG promotion or a performance of any of its songs. It's a shame, because when I first heard she was doing the show, I thought it was probably the best promotion she could get for the new album. The song clips and the Facebook updates were great, but those were treats for die-hards who were going to buy the album anyway. The Voice reaches millions people and would really get her out there.

Perfectly said.

If she does perform, it would probably be something like Edge or Landslide

Actually it was only half over. But now that the east coast broadcast is over, does anyone have any details? How much was she on, and at what point in the show?
