Great show tonight. Being that it's the 5th show, I won't recap. I'll just give a few thoughts and observations.

You Make LovingFun: Judging by the first few shows, I looked out for that high note at the beginning of the song that she wasn't really hitting.
It seemed like she's made some adjustments- it sounded much better tonight.

Rhiannon: I wish Lyndsey would spice up the guitar piece before "Rhiannooooon" I wish he did what Waddy does for Stevie's solo.

Over My Head: It's a beautiful fit. I wouldn't swap it out of this set.

Sisters: It was cool that she did last tour, but no need for two tours in a row. Much prefer Sara in this slot, or even Storms

Gold Dust: Stevie is insane this year- even compared to last year. So much energy.

During Stevie's thank you's, she mimicked the conversation she and Christine had about Chris' return to the band. She put on the cutest mimicking British accent. Had she done this in the first few shows?

The concert looked to be a sellout- or very close to it.

Amazing how last year they had 15k (not quite sellout) at MSG at one show. Now with Christine, interest doubles.

Oh, & MORE BALLOONS!!! White balloons came out of nowhere from the 101-103 sections during GYOW! None made it to the stage but what gives!!

Great show! I loved it

INSANE. SO GOOD. I'll write more tomorrow, but my mom and I went from the 17th row in section A (Christine's side) to third row center. We took a pic at the stage before the show and I asked a few security dudes if they were taking fans up when the lights went down. Venue security said no, only the first three rows - any others are hand picked by the band's people. Another security guy (non venue) asked me where I was sitting and said he'd make a note of it.

The lights dimmed and I just grabbed my mom and bolted up the aisle. The MSG security guy tried to stop us from going through, so we slid into the fourth row. The third row was empty, so I climbed over and pulled my dear mother over with me! God, I think she was going to kill me. We ended up staying there the rest of the night.

The only complaint I have about the show is how low energy the crowd up front was. I mean, even the people right at the stage were relatively subdued. But what was worst was that the first five rows were soooo full of stuffed shirts who came late with their super young trophy wives and girlfriends and left early. They all just stood and smiled politely and clapped politely when the song was over (and stared more at me dancing and having a good time, as if they had never seen a 23 year old with a face that could still emote, than they did at the show). I mean, geeze, I know Mick wants to make more by selling those insane $1,000 platinum seats, but boy did it really kill the buzz.

Great time otherwise. I could not have asked for a better experience for my first show.

Thanks for the report back! Am loving seeing the changes in what she says at the end of Silver Springs each show. She's done some extended 'one more chance's on one show, three 'never get away's on another. Lots of fun!

Question Balloons?

Did anyone get a pic of the balloons coming down? Just curious.

WJLA, October 8, 2014

http://www.wjla.com/articles/2014/10...me-107897.html

FLEETWOOD MAC: You know the first names, so, here’s a piece from the middle about a certain Madison Square Garden gig, per the New York Times, “. . . Ms. McVie wrote the determinedly optimistic, forward-looking “Don’t Stop,” which insists “yesterday’s gone.” But to the delight of a nostalgic audience on Monday, the band drew its entire set from the five albums this lineup made together: “Fleetwood Mac” (1975), “Rumours” (1977), “Tusk” (1979), “Mirage” (1982) and “Tango in the Night” (1987).

"There was camaraderie onstage; when Ms. McVie sang “Say You Love Me,” Ms. Nicks was singing along without a microphone, like a fan who knew all the words.

“Fleetwood Mac can’t duplicate its youthful sweetness. Ms. McVie’s voice has held its richness, but sometimes falters at high notes. Ms. Nicks’s huskiness has grown harsher, and in her glittery shawls she turns slowly now instead of twirling across the stage. But Fleetwood Mac still has the intricacy, elegance and underlying punch of its songs.” http://nyti.ms/1seBc6F

I was in the middle of the floor (I think the furthest back I've ever been for a FM concert). Interesting experience. In many ways, it was fun because I don't think I ever saw the details of the stage before. The drawback: I had to look at the monitor many times because people in front of me were just too tall. Not their fault...I seem to be shrinking in height.

Anyway, got to see a few dear friends before the show and had a nice crowd around me during the show. From the middle--it seemed like the whole Garden was really into the show and that almost everyone in the front stood. I guess I was wrong about that. I stood as long as physically possible. I have issues with my leg and had to sit from time to time but I had nice folks around me who didn't judge Actually, I 'm joking because that's the reason I stopped going to MSG for a while (didn't even know it was renovated until Monday!)--because of some of the crowd that seems to go there. They spend a ton of money to see a show but they don't seem at all into it. OR, they are so drunk they can't see straight, and ruin everyone else's good time.

I have said (right here on this very Ledge) that I didn't miss Christine post-The Dance (even though I had never seen her live). Well, oh, dopey me. I really, really, really loved her. And I think the whole band was just...complete...if that makes any sense. And, from where I was standing, at the end, I thought they gave the biggest ovations of the night to both McVie's, which was really nice.

So beautiful the response she is getting.

As for sitting, I sit a lot. Sometimes I sit with my arms folded. Sometimes I sit with assorted things in my lap. I like to sit.

I never dreamed she would come back, and to take it a step further... I never thought she would give them such life!! I've never seen them so happy!

[From Boston Herald Interview with Joy Behar by Gayle Fee 10/9/2014]

http://www.bostonherald.com/inside_t...about_the_view

Behar, who just turned 72 this week, said she has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

“I’m more energetic now than I was in my 30s,” she said. “I went to see Fleetwood Mac at Madison Square Garden the other night. Christine McVie is my age! I haven’t seen anyone in their 20s who can sing like her. And Lindsey Buckingham jumps around the stage like he’s 23. Age has nothing to do with anything if you live an interesting, creative life.”

What a cool thing to say... I really think Christine sounds amazing in most of the youtubes.. She's going to only get stronger.
