I can't believe Illume is still on there. Someting is not kosher here! Are there some rabid Stevie fans going to different computers and voting more than once?! Come on, admit it! How can only two LB songs be left?! If SYHA eventually gets voted off before Illume, I'm just going to give up and not vote anymore! It is LUDRICOUS the lengths people are going to to save that wretched song! Pardon me for voting for the one that sucks the hardest regardless of strategy!
OK, I'm done ranting now. P.S. Jake, if I'd realized you didn't like EFO, I wouldn't have blasted it over and over again while you were riding around with us in Phoenix! You should've spoken up! Last edited by sodascouts; 08-30-2003 at 05:18 PM.. |

Don't fret Russ ~ anyone who defends Illume is a friend of mine.
And I might add it's as much John's bass line I dig in that song as any of its other parts. You may vote off all the Lindsey-written songs, but he still arranged, produced and played all over them - it's win-win as a Lindsey fan ![]()

Yes, that is a very sweet and touching song but that is the exact reason on why I don't care for it...I just think it's so sad and I hardly ever listen to it...I mean, I know it's special to Stevie but it just makes me wanna hug her and I can't...LOL...I think that "Thrown down" is an excellent song! That song rox my sox! I mean, so suggestive
We all know what "thrown down" is about... .:*KIM*:. |

I like it, I just don't like it as much as the others. And besides, you KNOW how I hate to speak up about my opinions. (Especially after you left that other guy out in the desert after he asked you to lower SYHA.)For those of you who are wondering, a few of us drove many many many miles just to stop at a convenience store. We like to do things the hard way. - Jake

I have to maintain my opinion over EFO though.....It simply is totally amazing. It stands out over most other things on the SYW album, for many reasons.
The melodies and harmonies are not as rigid as on many FM songs, that struck me the first time. I also love its "distance"...it sounds as of Stevie is singing it from a secret place...unseen. Its really magical. Then the chorus starts and Lindsey puts in a really good vocal performance as well as instrumental. That moment at 2 mins 33/34 is totally amazing, the different chord change. Does anyone else hear a sort of ringing sound in it? Everytime i hear it i think my mobile phone is giving me a txt message! I mean this in anything but a derogitary way! Its just i am convinced that i hear a bleeping everynow and then Those strings at the end are fantastic, a new sort of thing to FM's repetoire.. Does anyone know if THey will add EFO to the European leg of the tour? Namely Uk!!!!!!!! Or has ne1 heard ne more news about the set list changes? Id love to hear... Russ....

I'm so glad "Illume" is still here. It's one of my favorites on the album.
I see that its closest rival for getting voted off this time around is "Miranda," but I love that song too. So I'm voting for "Running Through the Garden," which is one of my least faves of Stevie's. "Illume" fans: Let's give Lindsey a break this time around and vote off RTTG!!! |

Sorry, I will drown Miranda myself before I vote off RTTG.

Russ,
I am completely crazy over Everybody Finds Out. I think it represents so perfectly the "reinvention" and "fresh" sound of the band that Lindsey has always talked about since Chris left. They took themselves in a new direction and should be applauded for it-- it is a fabulous song and they all give fabulous performances. I think Rick Nowles and Stevie collaborate to make really great, energetic songs. While I love the entire album (there's really no song that just makes me go *cringe*) I have to say EFO is probably my favorite, *because* it is so unique for them. And you have to love the passionate vocals and playing from Lindsey, Mick, and John. They tear it up!!! This is a good workout song.... one of the best FM ones I can think of ![]() I voted for Goodbye Baby, as I have the past few rounds. Although it is beautiful, it is my least favorite of those left. And it makes me cry like an infant. I love Illume though, (the unpopular opinion here) so I hope it sticks around for another round! Last edited by Merf; 08-31-2003 at 09:21 AM.. |

Cheers Merf,
I would go so far to say that EFO is certainly in my top 3 FM songs! I totally agree with you. Russ. I think the proof is in the pudding, seeing as though it hasnt received a vote yet! YEEEEYYY It is a brilliant *new* FM sound, modern, but not commercial sounding...God, i couldnt stand it if FM went all commercial on me! I know they wont tho!

I don't understand why people are talking about "strategy" and "this can't turn into a Stevie solo album."
How bout if everybody votes how they truly feel? If it turns out that Stevie's songs are better than Lindsey's...so what? What's the big surprise? Stevie's never had a problem getting solo work out, Lindsey has. And that's a fact. And here are Lindsey's songs on SYW. They've finally been released..yea for him! Everybody wins. It's all good! susieq P.S. Thrown Down is my vote this round. It's too soft rock. Maybe we should call it "lullaby rock" because it makes me sleepy! |

Almost all the Lindsey songs gone,
I wonder why it still remains on here but in my opinion it should be gone so I choose Running through the Garden once again! ![]()

Wha? Huh? How could that happen? LOL! U peeps really like 'Goodbye baby' that much? I like it but I hardly ever listen to it, it makes me wanna cry...LOL! About the peep that had said that 'Say u will' is more like a Stevie solo album...Hehee...U know that Stevie is the best song writer to ever live...Well, she's one of the best--you can't forget Christine and Annie Lennox...But that's not part of the point...LOL! Stevie is just...Stevie!
