- UK Amazon albums chart - #68 (pre-orders)
- US iTunes albums chart - #25 (day pre-order was made available)

Positions when released:

- Australian iTunes albums chart - #17 (as of the last 5 minutes!)

Hmm, those are not promising stats for a high charting debut.

No there not but I have a feeling that Warner's sold the most. She really needs to be in top 3 of Amazon by now. We'll see what happens.

On the flip side, the album has been in the top 25 for weeks - all of which will count towards her first week's numbers. So maybe not a big deal?

Don't forget, these are pre-orders and in the week the album actually goes on sale, it will probably reach much higher positions, especially in the US. Many people will buy physical copies as well, not digital copies. I'm one of those people! I really wouldn't worry, especially in the US.
I am a bit worried about the UK though as apart from BBC Radio 2 there has been no promotion. I hope people buy the CD and vinyl as otherwise it won't even make the top 20 and for an artist as big as Stevie, that'll be embarrassing.

I'm guessing Stevie will sell in the range of 35,000 copies her first week, which based on the charts this week, would put her at the low end of the top 10.

The marketing of this album has actually been quite impressive: lots of advance downloads, lyric videos, an actual video ("Lady"), streaming songs, video commentaries, blurbs on blogs everywhere, articles in Rolling Stone and Huffington Post. Given all of this, I'm surprised that the album isn't in the top 10 for pre-sales, which makes me think that she'll have a healthy and impressive debut, but not a blockbuster.

What worries me is the fact that Stevie is committed to Fleetwood Mac for the rest of the year, so she really won't have opportunities to go on the Tonight Show or David Letterman or Ellen to perform a song from the album. Yes, she's got The Voice, but will she perform? Will she get to mention the album? I'm just concerned that her second and third week numbers will fall dramatically and the album will be dead by Halloween, which would be a damn shame.

Every single aging female rock n roll singer/songwriter is in dire straights. They have no outlet for their music.

This is the best album she has done since Bella Donna. However, where is going to get played?

I totally agree. This is what worries me. I think 'In Your Dreams' benefitted hugely from television promotion even though it didn't do incredibly well. Without that it would've been a total flop. She needs to DEFINITELY go on some shows like Ellen or Letterman to give this album longevity or the great debut it deserves.

Something tells me that Warners sold a lot of records on their site, especially because of Facebook. This is going to be real interesting. Also, I think the vinyl did better than expected.

The vinyl is out of stock at Amazon. It is currently #6 in vinyl, but at one time I think it was #1. I think most people probably ordered from Warner.

The album is going sell respectively well. As important is that her work will be respected and get great reviews. It seems likely, as it's already happening. The level of media exposure and buzz Stevie is getting is unprecedented, and all of it is positive. Stats aren't the only measure of success. And those are just early stats in one market. The album hasn't even been released yet. Why the rush to negative judgment? Matters are going much better than expected. Quoting John Lennon, "Let it Be."
