It is midnight here in the UK and well past my bed time, I am so glad I stayed up. Love this, my favorite snippet so far. xx

I'd rather have a previously unreleased demo but I'm not complaining, it's a beautiful song and her voice is great.

I wonder if this song qualifies as one that Stevie "performed live but was never properly recorded"? I would've preferred another demo (and an album made up entirely of Stevie-penned songs), but I'm digging the sound of this one.

I love the song, and Stevie's voice on it. It just confused the hell out of me how it's on a concept album of previously unreleased demos.

Stevie performed it live but it was on Vanessa's last album so I don't think that's the one...

I'm unfamiliar with the song (never paid any attention to Vanessa Carlton), but I do like it and think Stevie sounds great on it.

I like it a lot but I thought all the songs were going to be hers. Maybe she added additional lyrics like Seven Wonders to get a writing credit.

Or maybe it's a "mash up" of Vanessa's song and the "Carousel" song Stevie wrote it 1981? Doubtful.

Heck, I'd just as soon have Stevie sing A Thousand Miles.

Sounds like it.

Stevie must've identified with this song and decided to record it. I don't have a problem with that at all. The snippet sounds pretty.
But my favorite snippets so far are "All the Beautiful Worlds" and "If You Were My Love".

Oh, I know. I was just amused by interpreting her comment as a dig at Vanesa's recording. But still, I'm happy with how this song sounds!

The One was on Vanessa's album prior to White Rabbits on the Run..Stevie sang on that as well.

Yes, a very odd, out of left field song inclusion! How, in Stevie's twisted mind, did this make any sense? (Is this song only on the deluxe version?) I'm sure Stevie will make it her own, much like she has done with other cover songs.

There's a lot of disappoint and indignation from some Ledgies who feel this robs them of other vault songs. I understand that. Yet, this is Stevie's choice, not ours. Try to appreciate this album for what it is, and let go of your personal expectations. You'll be happier with the outcome.
