But then when I look at "my order," both the photo/litho and the vinyl are there. So I have no idea what's going on.
I got an email that said download Lady from Warners, so I clicked on the link and it downloaded.

For what it's worth, the files that Warner has for download are higher bitrate than iTunes, and also come with cover art.

yeah it is creepy.

I got the email from WB and I'm such a dolt I just didn't notice how much better the WB download is….you're right! On Lady it is VERY noticeable on the piano-- it sounds quite tinny on the iTunes version.

My e-mail from Warner just showed up at 10:02 MST (after midnight Eastern, which I was sort of expecting considering new releases are typically Tuesday).

Just got my email & download. You're right! It does sound better with this bit rate. And I LOVE the cover art popping up on my iPod!

Just got it from amazon and I love, love, love it! What amazing emotional vocals.

I wonder what happened with Stevie during the last 5 years. She seems so confident and self-assured today.

Considering how reluctant she was to make a new record at all before IYD and now she’s throwing out something like that, raw and unpolished, just her voice and the piano. I guess she wouldn't have the guts to do something like this ten years ago.

I keep my fingers crossed, that the critics will like it. She deserves it, ‘Lady’ deserves it.

Phew. My email finally came at 5:31 a.m. Tuesday EST.... only one came, though. When The Dealer email was sent, I got two since I ordered the litho bundle separately from the vinyl. I was going to send the second one to my mom, since she's the one buying the bundle for me!

I also realized I could check my order status in the store and, sigh of relief, it's all still there.

But wow... this version is much higher quality than the YouTube / Spotify one I listened to all day yesterday.

I'm in love with it. It already affects me like Landslide... there's a certain frustration, fear, and uncertainty about the future that really strikes you when you're in your early 20s, and the lyrics just really hit a chord with me. And the raw, emotional vocals only enhance it. Plus, it's a bit of a reassurance knowing that you are not alone. Even Stevie Nicks felt that way when she wrote the song. I rarely, rarely hear a song written these days that speaks to that feeling.

That yearning, vulnerable desperation in her voice. And yet still leave us with that silver lining, that glimmer of hope, or faith - "Maybe you don't have to see"

These are the moments fans like us live for, and stick around hoping to catch a glimpse here & there. It's been since the 70s (live Rhiannon performances, "Silver Springs", her Tusk songs, & ALL her backing vocals, esp. with W.Egan, J.Stewart & T. Snow) - and then came The Wild Heart - where her ragged, vibrato belt was on display in full splendor, and to some degree (but more scarred) on RAL.

This is why I listen. Nobody moves me like Stevie Nicks. Sometimes it's her lyrics. Sometimes it's a vocal. But, when it's both, It's pure Stevie magic! Make no mistake about it, scarred voice and all, this is a rare moment in a 21st century Stevie Nicks recording. Dare I say *masterpiece*. Not only is this song universal. This is true artistry, like inexpressible colors, the image of a painting, that you can't explain with simple words: It simply touches your soul. And ultimatley, this is the basis of why Stevie transcended above the rest of FM. While "they" were perfecting their studio craft, Stevie was stirring the listeners soul. Yeah, they needed each other, but, I don't think "they" will ever admit just how much they needed Stevie.

Possibly, the only element that may have elevated this recording is *maybe* some very subtle strings on the final chorus through the ending. Nontheless, this song is pretty perfect. I'm so proud of Stevie. I'm so proud to be a Stevie fan right now.
^^^Love this post.....

Its similar to how I felt when I heard the first notes of the whole song - this is something really special. It felt like a wonderful gift and a privilege to be listening to it for the first time. This song is so perfectly suited to 66 year old Stevie.

Also...this must be a powerful song. My 5 year old daughter becomes still, quiet and peaceful when I play it - not many things have that effect on her, I can't think of another song that has had that effect. When I asked her if she liked it - she smiled and nodded. It seems to be a song that makes you drop everything, stop in your tracks and just listen.

dave stewart .

he is creative , and probably gave her confidence by not having her record the same word repeatedly to get it perfect and them layering and overdubbing it ... like the new Mac cd wil probably sound like . and hopefully she fired all the leeches who felt she'd rake it in as a novelty act constantly on the road and not in a studio spending money to make music

I'm obsessed with that picture.

On the one hand, it's beautiful. On the other, I feel like it could be the poster for a horror movie - there's just something kind of creepy/haunting about it.. her position, the lighting, the chiffon.... And it's awesome.

Wow! I like it. If this truly dates back to the Buckingham Nicks days, I can totally see Stevie having a moment of doubt while they were struggling so hard to make it, and "He" (being Lindsey) giving her that reassurance that it would be ok. Also, the "Lady, you don't need to see" makes me think in a broader way, of faith in the spiritual sense. As in, "I know you are confused and afraid, but trust in me. I can see the bigger picture that you can't and eventually things will work out for your good". Just another way it speaks to me. Hooray! I made my first post! I've lurked for years, but never had the courage to speak up. I want to thank you all for keeping me updated on all the latest news, and for all your thoughtful/witty/interesting insights into all things Stevie and Fleetwood Mac. Thanks!! http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/images/smilies/kiss.gif
