Default Still Of The Night Demo.....Im trying to make it available.

Hi guyz,

I have a VERY early Piano Demo of "Still Of the Night" with Stevie on the vocals etc, it is very raw and very interesting to hear..

I am not sure of the copyright laws or legal tangle over any ones rights to post here? I notice DownOnRodeo posted an early Sorcerer demo in response to my Sorcerer thread...

If i can post, then HOW ON EARTH do I get it up here?

LOL

Any help?

You have to get it on a server...I think. Then link it to the board so everyone can access the file.

Just on a side note, wouldn't it be cool if someone had a site where you could actually download all demos and other bootleg recordings for Fleetwood Mac. I know that some sites allow you to download certain ones, but they're always low quality...

Default Russ..~

You post a song for download by linking to where you have uploaded it to your webspace. Your ISP has probably given you about 30MB of free web space and you would use an FTP program (free from cnet.com etc) to transfer the files from your computer to the webspace.
If that's getting to complicated the easiest way would be to email it to me or anyone else with webspace.
Then the problem is email size. You can't use hotmail, for instance, to email a big mp3 file. But the email address that comes with your ISP usually has a larger limit.

BTW, is this demo 'All The Beautiful Worlds'? Is it an electronic keyboard and does it have backup singers? In that case, I think it has been posted recently at sararhiannon.com and so most people probably have it ~ on the other hand, probably a totally different song! I've never heard of 'Still of the Night', but I know that phrase features in "...Beautiful Worlds"

Well said Joe.

Stevie in concert had often (perplexingly) introduced "How Still My Love" as "In The Still Of The Night." Which is sort of confusing...because "In The Still Of The Night" was/is a classic song from the late 1950's.

I downloaded "Still Of the Night" a long time ago off a file sharing network (WinMX???), anyway, it is the demo for "How Still My Love."

Yes....I too got mine off Winmx a few months back....however i have just noticed that the final 30secs is missing off my copy...

I am not sure if it is still available from there...I presume that it is How still my love.

Here are the lyrics..just if anyone can confirm..

"Your still the same old story,
What price glory?
Dont make it easy,
In the Still of the night x3

Doing all you can for me,
Say your not the man for me
And dont tease me
In the still of the night x3

Standing in the doorway.... etc etc lol

Ne1 know? I think it may be How still my love demo. THo i am not familiar with that finals song.

It's on Stevie's solo lp Bella Donna. Fabulous song. I do believe she once said it was "the delight"(or something along that line) of her night doing it on stage. I know she soes it on a copy of The Other Side Of The Mirror Tour/ San Jose, CA, 10-20-89 that I have. I'm sure she was doing it on the short Bella Donna Tour, but I can't remember if it was on Stevie's "In Concert" video. I'm guessing she did it on every tour up to Street Angel, maybe even then. Ack, I'm rambling here, I need a Stevie expert to help me out.....JS?!

It's not on the In Concert video.
The only live version I've heard was on the Mirror tour.

Well you could be right gldstwmn. I do know that she said "Angel" makes her feel like a dance hall girl and she loves doing it on stage. But I do remember Stevie having a particular fondness for "How Still My Love" and I thought she said it was her favorite song to do on stage when asked, in God only knows what interview I read.

I can't remember if she did it on the SA tour, but I did see her do it here in LA right before the SA tour started. It's a great concert song.

But wait, I thought Stand Back is her favorite onstage.
It seems to come from its own time and space.
Oh, and last I heard, Beautiful Child is very very special to her onstage.
And Sable on Blond is her serious statement on TWH, which was a tour she loved.
And Twisted she just loves.
Sara she loved as her favorite song, but then it turns out it was way edited and she hated the stage version anyway. Or she was mad at Don's interview. Or that old lawsuit. Anyway, she loved it once.
Rhiannon she never says she loves, but she says it could be a neighbor lady, and since she's a good person, I'm sure she knows to love thy neighbor, so I guess she loves Rhiannon, too.

I know this was a big help.
