Lady - Page 2

Reminds me of an Elton John song.

She's really putting a lot into those vocals. It feels like it's a hit from the 60's or 70's. I think I will like it a lot.

Now that the snippet of "Lady" is up and we all know the song is a new version of "Knocking On Doors" we can start speculating

. This snippet came from an Itunes snippet so we know that it will soon be on iTunes in the UK and US. This snippet quality is dare I say - crap. But we have it and it sounds great to me!

Very happy that it is Knocking On Doors.

Wow, that voice - it's obvious she put a lot into this one. I like it a lot.

Stunning. Raw, gorgeous, and wow she's really going for it. Excited to hear the full high-quality version!

Danielle · #21 08-24-2014, 10:03 AM

It's so beautiful!

WildHearted · #22 08-24-2014, 10:04 AM

Sounds awesome. Love that they kept it simple.

Jondalar · #23 08-24-2014, 10:12 AM

I love this! I can't believe they did it that way. I really connect with this song. It holds a lot of meaning for me. Frustration is the story of my life. So well written and meaningful. I bet this one gets the video.

I am thinking/hoping the same thing.

And edit: the vocals in that first part of the clip, wow - it's almost like she found that voice for an instant. It's beautiful.

It really is amazing!

Not sure about the music video but there will most likely be a lyric video again

WOW!!! What a nice surprise to wake up to first thing on a Sunday morning!

I love that they kept it simple ~ just Stevie and a piano. It forces us to listen to her voice as the main focal point. She's singing in a lower key, obviously, but it's not THAT MUCH lower, and she's still singing it exactly like the demo ~ hitting the higher notes.

Can't wait to hear this song in it's entirety. I have the day off today, but if I could wish it away as quickly as possible, I would! I wanna download "Lady" and listen to it NOW!!!

Wow! I live in Napa Ca. so I first got jolted out of bed at 320 by a 6.1 earthquake and now this.

Really she hasn't done anything like this since her masterpiece ballads on Tusk .What a stunner. Can 't wait to get the full song at midnight EST hopefully.

jkmaletic · #28 08-24-2014, 10:48 AM

People here have talked about her voice sounding strained on other clips, but I think she sounds strained on this one.

This one will have to grow on me. Maybe I'll like it better when I hear the whole song.

Now that's better!

Truly one of Stevie's early gems and from the snippet, she's poured her heart out and delivered an amazing vocal with power and emotion. They've hit this one out of the park, can't wait for the whole song.
