How did you ever get 1200 Facebook friends?

I have... Maybe 220? And even then I look at it and go "There's no way I really know that many people." and indeed, many of them I haven't exchanged even the most passive of Facebook interactions with in years. The phrase "You have 220 friends" is just completely farcical.

I'm a musician, and probably half of my "friends" are musicians and their friends. The other half are real friends, and friends of friends.

Okay, when I really think about it...out of the 1200, I probably have met...hmm....800? of them.

Believe me, I no longer try to add people! I accept most requests(unless we have zero friends in common), but I've been unfollowing people like crazy!

For example, a pretty good friend of mine posts WAY too much. And like 10 freaking selfies a day! I finally commented on one yesterday, and just said, "SO MANY SELFIES", hoping that maybe he would take the hint. Two selfies later, I unfollowed him. Get your face offa my computer, and btw, all those selfies make you look like a douche!!!(what I wanted to say).

Homer, I never told you this before but it was actually you that convinced me to join FB 2 years ago without even knowing it. You always talking about how you resisted for so long as had I, and that how the new experience had really enhanced your life, as has mine. I spend more time on FB than any other site. I even suggested to Michele to move The Ledge over there to save on expenses.
I run 2 groups of my own and Admin. in 3 others. It is a lot of fun. Plus I belong to a really cool Stevie site on there. The Ledge will always be my number one site for FM info but just in case TL will cease to exist some day, I still want to be able to stay in touch with any friend's from here.
I only accept friend requests from people I know or people that have exchanged many online conversations with me. I never had the desire to amass countless friend's just to have a high number on my wall. I do have over 1,000 followers but I never asked a single one of them to do so. I post PG rated pics of hot guys and the people from FB love them, and that is why so many members follow me on there.

I agree with everything you said!
And I also belong to quite a few fb groups. Two groups are actually disgruntled Ledgies! For those who remember the great big cliques here, circa 2007-ish, one group of those people and I have become great friends. ACTUALLY, from that group, 5 of them are coming to my house this weekend, for a FM pool party. FM jamming all weekend, and the drinks will be a flowin'! And floating! lol

I'll admit when I first got on fb, that I was trying to build my friends list up, but I haven't sent an add to anyone, for a couple of years now. But again, when they request me, as long as we have mutual friends, I add them. But now, if they post too much, I unfollow them, so I don't have to read all their crap!

I had the exact opposite experience with Facebook. All the politics, religion, personal exhibitionism, and hypocrisy made my blood boil. I felt like I saw everyone becoming trashy reality show caricatures of themselves. I saw how addicted to Facebook people came. And how it actually ended up hindering in-person human interaction. Folks ignoring those who were physically in the same room with just to update/check facebook- others having little to say to each other in person because they relay their entire lives on Facebook. I got rid of Facebook about a year ago and it's honestly been one of the best things I've ever done for myself. It just caused so much stress in my life.

No. Both of my groups are small. Both, less than 10 people. Just Ledgies that have been around forever. No newbies(IDK who Annie is, I don't think).

I DO agree that FB is completely addictive. I NEVER wanted to join, and "Michelle2677" dragged me there, kicking and screaming, telling me that I'd love it. And she was 100% correct. Imma FB whore. Completely addicted. I love it.

WHY did it cause stress? Quite the opposite, here.

Exclamation I'm on FB...

but only have 6 people listed as friends, and 5 of the 6 are relatives...other than reading about music (I will say about 98% of what I listen to fans here would not enjoy), baseball/NHL and helping to place pets/protect pets FB is not that great...very overrated.

My boyfriend spends enough time on it with music related business and purely fan stuff, he says I should avoid getting sucked into it. It comes down to that and things I've heard about the companies practices. I'd probably end up banned anyway for writing something some extremist dislikes, like Obama is a nice man for example.

Anyway, I have deer and squirrels in the yard for friends! Now if only the squirrels don't try saving me for winter this year...

Talking Ha!!!

http://www.inquisitr.com/1426586/wes...t-church-iraq/

The Westboro Baptist church, the extreme anti-gay group that has garnered national attention for years by picketing funerals — including the funerals of U.S. soldiers killed in action — with their placards bearing messages of hatred against gay people, now say that the group’s members will travel to war-torn Iraq to protest the Muslim religion.

But for their trip to Iraq, if indeed they follow through on their pledge, they will modify the slogan, as in the above photo, to read, “God Hates Islam,” along with other placards bearing such expressions of disdain for the world’s largest religion as “Muslims Die God Laughs” and “Muhammad = Lying False Prophet.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to whoever invented youtube, I cannot WAIT to see how this turns out for WBC...Karma and its non-expiration date will make this EVENT SO FUN!!!!

I listen to WWCR World Wide Christian Radio out of Nashville on the shortwave radio band to listen to a classic country music show they produce.

The show before the country show has a guy fussing about everything on the news and commenting about anti gay marriage with a negative tone.It goes through one ear and out the other.

As I was mowing my lawn today.Shocked by surprise there is a freaking big beehive hanging off the gutter in back of my garage.I said holy sheet.

I have look for a bee keeper to take the basketball size hive away.My sister had a bee keeper to take the hive out of her yard awhile back.

It also was strange not to see dozens of bees flying around it .

I will take photos tomorrow or even a timelapse with a zoom lens as they come home and leave the hive.
